Case study on How LinkedIn proved useful to a Software Development Company

Case study on How LinkedIn proved useful to a Software Development Company One of the oldest clients of OMLogic, OSSCube is a US based Open Source Solutions company. Most of the social media promotion
had been in the form of sharing PowerPoint presentations on SlideShare, uploading event or seminar
images on Flickr, and videos on YouTube. Somehow, despite the deluge of social media activities, the
client’s purpose of lead generation remained unfulfilled. For an IT company of their ilk, lead
generation was the raison d’être for doing social media in the first place.
OMLogic has now developed a whole new strategy around LinkedIn, for the purposes of branding
and marketing of OSSCube. And LinkedIn Answers plays a pivotal role in this. OMLogic helped
OSSCube participate in various Open Source application or solution discussions on LinkedIn
discussions, especially focusing on responding to tricky questions (with valuable help of the technical
team of OSSCube, of course). While, on one hand, OSSCube technical team leveraged its own subject
matter expertise, to frame accurate answers, on the other hand, the OMLogic team used LinkedIn
Answers as a medium, to take their clients around the world resolving Open Source issues and
offering valuable inputs.
OMLogic also successfully leveraged LinkedIn groups and LinkedIn events to promote OSSCube’s seminars, events, conferences etc.
Useful information in the form of PPTs, videos, white papers and case studies were shared, and even talked about and discussed in
detail in LinkedIn groups.
As a result of the marketing agency’s efforts, OSSCube was finally rewarded with a definite increase in number of leads and contacts.
Add to that, the fabulous branding in the field of Open Source technology. No wonder, LinkedIn has been found as an inexhaustible
social media platform amongst the other OMLogic clients as well!
