W ell here we are in October, the nights getting shorter, crisper cooler air with spooky goings on at the end of

October, it will be our first opportunity to take our daughter trick a treating oh what fun, just hope daddy doesn't have to get dressed up as well. We have great kids offer at Farmer Parrs for Halloween as well as many spooky evening events to be held.

Early November will bring anticipation of Bonfire Night, pleas be sure to go along to a local supervised event for your and your families safety, Main planned events will be at Cottam Hall Playing Fields in Poulton and Rossall School off Westby Way Fleetwood for the 2nd annual Bonfire & Fireworks display, big turnouts to both events - get wrapped up, be safe and have fun!

Morans The Jewellers

Peter Ainsworth age 55 married with two grown up children, trained with the prestigious Preston's of Bolton and Watches of Switzerland. He started at Morans in 1976 and took over ownership in 1990, apart from working as a jeweller during the day he has become a well known pianist in the area and has recorded tow piano albums which are on sale in the shop with proceeds donated to the local NSPCC, these album sales have raise thousands of pounds. Hobbies include passing on his musical and per-forming talents to youngsters by teaching piano and singing. One of the longest reining shopkeepers on Red Bank Road and this month celebrates 40years in the jewellery trade. One of the very few jewellers in the area, if any undertaking reasonably priced watch repairs undertaken on the premises. Tick Tocks nursery Tick Tocks Nursery on Lawsons Road, near Thornton centre is piloting a new scheme called FLEXI-CARE. This system only charges parents for the childcare they use, so if you work shifts and only require childcare between 11am and 3pm, you will only be charged four hours childcare.

Manager Lauren Smith announces, "This will potentially save par-ents hundreds, if not thousands of pounds in unnecessary childcare fees as most nurseries adhere to strict session times". September proved to be another good month for the West Lancs Prem new boys with games coming thick and fast in both cup and league competitions. Saturday the 4th saw them travelling back to the venue of their opening day league fixture with an away cup tie versus Tempest United. A 2-2 draw that day was the sign of things to come as a 1-1 draw was played out to full time.With cup rules in place keeper Mark Smith was the hero of the hour saving all three Tempest penalties in the resulting shoot-out to see his side through to the next round. Back to league action on September 11th and Vickerstown CCFC made the long journey to New Bourne Park and returned home the happier of the two teams following a well earned 1 -1 draw . Dalton Utd were hoping to follow suit the week after but unlike their local rivals they could not overcome the home side who won by a 1- 0 margin.

Back into cup action on the 25th and Walney Island were the next Cumbrian outfit to be overcome in the Lancashire Amateur Shield. A convincing 6 – 1 home win kept the cup run alive with a 3 round Tie to look forward to.
