Lines of EncouragementThanks to those who prepared for & participated in the Cowboy Round-Uplast Saturday night. The food was delicious and the fellowship enjoyable. Our next congregational event will be Trunk-N-Treat on Thursday night, October 30 th . This is always a positive community event and lots of fun. Plan now to come and set up. Activities will begin at 6:30pm and continue to 8pm. John will preach for you this coming Sunday morning and Jarrod, Sunday even- ing. Octavia & I will be out of town, but I m confident that you will hear two good presenta- tions from Gods word. Copies of the parent letter that I read last Sunday morning are availa- ble in the foyer on the table by the lamp. A word of good adviceHolding resentment is like eating poison and waiting for the other person to die!It is true that resentment hurts the one practicing it. The one to whom it is directed may not even be aware of your feelings. Their eating, sleeping, or performance may not be altered at all, while your life is a mess. Maybe that is why the Bible says so much about forgiveness (that act of letting go of the bitterness & hate found in your heart). Peace and resentment cannot dwell together. Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful(Col. 3:12-15). Quit drinking the poison, it will kill you! If it sounds to good to be true, it usually is!We have all heard that line before and it may be the case that such reasoning has saved us from harm. However, there are exceptions to this rule and the gospel of Christ is such an example. The thought that all my sins can be forgiven in Christ sounds too good to be true. The innocent dying for the guiltyare you sure? The bleeding and death of Gods Son taking place just for the removal of my sinsreally? It is true! Forgiveness and a new beginning are found in Christ, dont let it pass you buy (Rom. 6:23; Gal. 3:26-27). What a gift! Lines of Encouragement… Thanks to those who prepared for & participated in the “Cowboy Round-Up” last Saturday night. The food was delicious and the fellowship enjoyable. Our next congregational event will be Trunk-N-Treat on Thursday night, October 30th. This is always a positive community event and lots of fun. Plan now to come and set up. A word of good advice… “Holding resentment is like eating poison and waiting for the other person to die!” It is true that resentment hurts the one practicing it. Lord’s Supper Preparation for 2015

There is a list on the bulletin board for Lord’s Supper preparation for 2015. Please check this list and choose a date you can pre-pare the Lord’s

supper. There are still several months open.

Sewing for Honduras

Sewing for Honduras will meet each Tuesday evening at 4:30pm in a class room in the New Fellowship Hall.

None of Us are Perfect None of us are perfect, nor will we ever be perfect in life. And we should all thank God that we don’t have to be perfect to go to heaven! However, imperfection is not an excuse for not being faithful to God. It’s heaven’s con-dition! “...they which live should not hence-forth live unto themselves, but unto Him which died for them, and rose again” (2 Cor. 5:15).

In Memory Sympathy Thank You

Jarrod’s Jargon We had a great time at our area wide youth retreat. We took 15 of our young people to Big Reedy Christian camp out-side of Bowling Green, Kentucky and joined up with the Martin, North Jackson, and Huntingdon congregations for a total of 67 young people. Our weekend theme was "Grow Up". The theme centered around us as Christians con-stantly growing, learning, and developing in our faith with God. We never actually stop growing as Christians, our faith is something that continually grows with us as we get older. I want to thank all of the students that went, I can't wait to do it again. Our Toddler—4th grade family Fun this past Sunday night was wonderful. We had an amazing time of fellowship espe-cially with the food. We ate left-over stew and chili from the Cowboy Round-Up and it was amazing. Thanks to the ladies for their amazing cooking tal-ents for the great grub. I want to also thank the families that stayed and partici-pated in this event. I hope everyone has an amazing week and we will see you Sunday.
