ToolsBefore you startThese instructions MUST be read care-fully BEFORE using the door.

These operating instructions apply only to complete Lindab products. If the door and the electrical controls are of different makes, use only the relevant section.

When operating the door it is particu-larly important to be careful if other people are close to it. If irregularities are noted in connection with the door’s function read the trouble shooting table so that the fault can be identified and remedied.

SafetyOnly pass through the door aperture when the door is in top position. Spe-cial care must be taken when operating the door – particularly when children are close by.

Never allow children to operate the re-mote controls or the push buttons.

Comply with the supplier’s instructions in connection with automatic door op-eration.

Manual openingThe lock can be opened by loosening the barrel bolt. Raise the door by lifting it with the handle using sufficient force to ensure that it moves to top position. Hold onto the handle again just before the door reaches top position as this will prolong its service life considera-bly.Close the door in the opposite se-quence.

NB: When subsequently equipping the door with an automatic control, the lock must either be removed or blocked in some other way as the motor could otherwise be damaged. If a rope has been installed, this MUST be removed before the door may be operated auto-matically.

Automatic openingOnly approved, CE labelled systems should be used if automatic door op-eration is required. The factory’s instructions should be re-ferred to in connection with automatic door operation. The door is opened with the help of the accompanying remote controls (coded keyboard) by activating one of the

buttons. Also see the supplier’s instruc-tions.It irregularities occur in connection with operation, read the accompanying in-structions for automatic control. In the case of a power failure, the motor can be released by pulling the cord on the pull rail and the door can be operated manually. Also read the accompanying instructions.UnpackingIf any package is damaged or is miss-ing it should be noted on the freight document at arrival. By transportation damages, contact the responsible transporter. If any component is missing inside the package or damaged, contact Lindab Profile customer support +46-431-85 000.

Maintenance

LubricationAll hinges/roller bearings and safety de-vices should be lubricated once every six months or so using acid-free oil. Lu-bricate all side seals on the jamb as well, using silicone spray or a similar product. This will help the door to run more easily.

CleaningIf the door needs washing, always use a soft brush, water and car shampoo. If spots of dirt prove impossible to re-move with water and car shampoo, use an enamel cleaning agent which does not contain an abrasive agent. Never use products containing abra-sive or polishing agents.

SpringsIf the door becomes difficult to open after a certain period of time, start by lubricating it as described under ”Lubri-cation”. If this is not sufficient, tighten the springs slightly.

Safety devicesAt regular intervals, check that the safety device (the small knife on the bottom fitting roller) works correctly. It should be relatively easy to push backwards with one finger. This flexibility can be maintained by keeping the safety de-vice free of dirt, and by lubricating it regularly.

Garage door

If a cable or spring breaks, the safety device will be activated and engage. If this happens, the safety device should be replaced. Please contact Lindab or your dealer for further information.

Type of defect Possible cause Proposed remedy

The door has been mounted, but does not run freely and easily in the rails.

The horizontal and vertical rails have not been mounted at the correct distance in relation to the measuring stick. See mounting instructions for garage doors pages 12-13 and 17.

The vertical rails have not been mounted plumb. See mounting instructions for garage doors pages 11-13.

The horizontal rails have not been mounted parallel. See mounting instructions for garage doors page 17.

The vertical rails are not perpendicular to the wall.

Use the measuring stick to check that the distance between rails both vertically and horizontally is correct by drawing the measuring stick from bottom to top.

Check with spirit level and adjust if necessary.

Use a tape measure to check that the cross dimension = Z (the Z dimension is stated on the horizontal rail and in the datasheet).

Check and adjust if necessary.

The door has been mounted and runs freely in the rails; but it does not open fully, or else it runs to the top too fast.

The springs have been mounted by the factory in standard fashion. See mounting instructions for garage doors page 30.

Tighten the springs by pulling them one hole further out, and loosen them by pulling them one hole further in.

NB! Adjust when the door is open.

Remember! To prevent the door from falling by locking it with a screw clamp in the rail under the bottom hinge.

When mounting the bottom section it is not possible to push the bottom section into the horizontal rail.

The bottom hinges have a built-in anti-falling device which will engage during mounting if the small plastic pin breaks before the door is fully mounted. See mounting instructions for garage doors page 30.

The knife on the bottom hinge is kept away from the rail, and will be kept in position as soon as the bearing cable has been mounted. See mounting instructions for garage doors page 26.

See also ”Safety devices” under ”Operation and maintenance”.

When mounting the electrical door opener the top section runs into the rail on the door opener.

The top fitting including roller no 2 must not be mounted on doors with electrical operation. See mounting instructions for garage doors (electrical operation) pages 24, 25 og 34.

Remove the upper section of the top hinge including roller no. 2.

ProblemsolvingYour door should run smoothly, but if it fails to do so please consider the fol-lowing points so the defect can be identified and a remedy provided.

If these suggestions fail to solve the problem, please contact us. Please re-member to state the door number (see door sign on the inside of the door).
