Lincolnshire is England’s fourth largest county – going from the Humber in the north to the Wash in the south. There is definitely something for everyone to enjoy.

The coastal resorts of Skegness, Mablethorpe and Cleethorpes are firm family favourites. Miles of golden sandy beaches, perfect for walking and enjoying the big open skies. Families will enjoy the attractions such as Natureland Seal Sanctuary and of course Butlins. The market town of Boston is also on the coast, one of the finest market places in England and surrounded by lanes with independent retailers and bursting with heritage. Most notably as a significant trading port – visit The Guildhall and The Stump to find out more about the history.

The Georgian town of Stamford is loved by visitors – at the very south of the county, Burghley House sits just outside the pretty town. Other stately homes and castles include Grimsthorpe Castle where you can hire bikes to explore the grounds, Doddington Hall on the outskirts of Lincoln and the four National Trust properties including Belton House at Grantham with its outdoor play area.

Adrenaline junkies will love Cadwell Park – with race days throughout the year and hosting key national events. The race track is in the heart of the Wolds. This hilly part of Lincolnshire is perfect for walking, cycling and wildlife – and is peppered with great places to stay and tea rooms to make your visit even more enjoyable.

The elegant inland resort of Woodhall Spa is a beautiful Edwardian village, with an outdoor pool and the Kinema in the Woods – just 20 miles from Lincoln it makes a perfect place to visit.

So, get out and explore Lincolnshire. To find out more visit www.visitlincolnshire.com

Welcome to the Cathedral City of Lincoln in Magna Carta’s 800th year.

Lincoln is one of England’s finest historic cities – with a unique mix of heritage attractions, modern arts, a vibrant cultural and events scene; and in 2015 we are celebrating the 800th anniversary of 1215 Magna Carta.

Visit Lincoln Castle where you can see Magna Carta & 1217 Charter of the Forest as part of the newly refurbished castle experience. Explore the Medieval Wall Walks and uncover the stories of the 1,000 years of history. You will quickly fall in love with the surrounding cobbled streets of the Cathedral Quarter and pick up local treasures in the raft of independent shops, antique centres and boutiques.

No visit is complete without experiencing the Cathedral – one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in Europe. You can save money with a joint ticket for these two attractions.

A year round programme of events fill the city streets with dance festivals, jazz weeks, comedy nights and colourful carnivals. Cheer on the nations top cyclists in June as the 2015 British Cycling National Championships come to town and experience the sites of fantasy neo-Victorian costumes at the

Steampunk Festival in August – in ‘the world’s most Steampunk city’.

Take an open top bus sightseeing tour, get spooked with the Ghost Walks and relax on the Brayford Belle River cruise. Follow in the steps of Romans with our self-guided trails and visit our museums and galleries – great for families and adults too.

If enjoying the outdoors is your thing, Lincoln is surrounded by lush green countryside ideal for walking and cycling. The Water Rail Way delights visitors with unusual displays of outdoor art (inspired by Tennyson) along this mostly off road walking and cycling trail and Sustrans Route 64 is just on the doorstep. Explore the villages south of the city – visiting mills, great pubs and don’t miss the National Centre for Craft and Design in Sleaford.

Lincolnshire boasts an array of nostalgic and modern aviation centres, home to the Avro Lancaster Bomer, Just Jane, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and the world famous Red Arrows aerobatic display team, who regularly train in the Lincolnshire skies.

Enjoy good food, great events and chose from a number of places to stay in the city and beyond.

RAF Scampton has had a rich and varied history: from being the base for 617 Squadron (also known as the Dambusters) to housing one of the United Kingdoms nuclear deterrents in the post-war era – the Blue Steel Missile. Even today RAF Scampton leads an interesting life as home to the RAF Aerobatic Team – The Red Arrows. Visiting the museum is by prior appointment only.

Located four miles south of Lincoln, RAF Waddington is a busy operational airfield and home to a fascinating Heritage Centre. Almost continuously active since first opening as a Royal Flying Corps training base in 1916, the base held significant operational roles during World War II, the Cold War V-Bomber era and during the Falklands Campaign.

The Heritage Centre allows you to step into the history of the base and displays include the wreckage from aircraft that were based at Waddington and other links to RAF museums across the country. The Waddington Airfield Viewing Enclosure (WAVE) is a great place to spot modern day operation aircraft. Visiting the museum is by prior appointment only.
