  • rosco color filter productsRosco offers three ranges of color filters, each one originally created to meet specific needs. Cinegel, for example, was created to meet the requirements of the motion picture industry and Roscolux for theatrical lighting designers.

But most of the colors in each range are unique to that range, so film professionals often use Roscolux filters in theirwork, as theatrical designers often use Cinegel colors in their plots.

Swatchbooks for all three ranges are available at Rosco dealers or can be requested on the Rosco websitewww.rosco.com

roscoluxThe most widely used color filter range in the world.Roscolux includes well over 100 different colors and dozensof diffusers. Sold by authorized dealers in 20 x 24 sheetsand 24 x 25 rolls.

e-colourRosco introduced E-Colour in 1993. It retains the samenumbers and names as the original Cinemoid system withmany Rosco colors familiar to European lighting designers andfilmmakers. Sold by authorized Rosco dealers in 48 x 25rolls and sheets that are 21 x 24.

cinegelThe Cinegel range was developed for filmmakers and TVlighting professionals. It won an Academy Award fortechnical achievement from the Academy of Motion PictureArts and Science in 1974. Sheets are 20 x 24 and rollsare of various sizes.

Although Thomas Hase largely lit this scene from The Wiz withLED fixtures, he used R113, a Roscolux diffuser, to blend out the LEDlight. He also used E-Colour 139 in his plot to strengthen the effect.

Mike Baldassari needed strong, clean colors that could holdtheir own against the large number of moving lights usedin this concert. He highlighted the performers with R3202

in the side lights and R54 in the front light.

  • Rosco gobos offer both subtle and dramatic highlights to the lighting for productions or events. In this scene, for example, lightingdesigner Herrick Goldman used a standard Rosco gobo, Glass Brick (No.77563) to texture the floor into a cobblestone-like appearance.

An imaginative use of both standard and custom Roscogobos helped lighting designer Al Crawford create a

dramatic ambience for this 50 x 100 tent event.

A character walking home in the rain becomes a more poignant momentin the play when a standard Rosco gobo, Cobblestones (No.77787),

is projected softly and rotated in an animation wheel very slowly.

The arresting effect in the window of this set was createdwith Roscos standard steel Dots Breakup Medium (No.77053)in one slot of the rotator and the Sunset Prismatic glass gobo(No.43804) in the other slot.

  • rosco gobo rotatorsDesigners use rotating gobos to create a variety of lighting effects, including simulating reflectedwater, falling rain or blazing fire. Often, gobos are rotated around a stage or room to createstartling effects, such as simulated fireworks or shooting stars. Roscos six Gobo Rotators vary inprice and features. But all six will rotate one or two gobos and will fit the iris slot of nearly alltheatrical spotlights in use today.

Vortex rotatorUltra quiet and popular everywhere for itslow price and ease of use, Roscos VortexRotator will rotate two gobos in oppositedirections. It does not require any additionalpower supply; the transformer that comeswith it can be plugged directly into a walloutlet. A three-way toggle switch allows youto turn the unit on and off and to controlpolarity.

Double gobo rotatorThe Rosco Double Gobo Rotator acceptstwo B size gobos secured face to facein the optical path. This face to faceconfiguration, made possible by durablebut narrow gears, allows the two patternsto have a common centre axis, allowingfor spectacular effects.

Indexing rotatorRosco's Indexing Rotators are Double andSingle Gobo Rotators which allow you tostop and start the gobo's rotation precisely, whenever and wherever you want. This isparticularly useful for repetitive effects, such as the hands of a gobo clock, or forarchitectural effects, such as a shop displaywindow.

SimpleSpinrotatorA superb value for applications in which thetwo gobos will always rotate in oppositedirections, as a single motor controls both.Speed of rotation is available with a simpleset and forget control. The unit includes aninternal 100-240v power supply.

REVOdual indexing rotatorTwo independent variable speed motorswith DMX-controlled 8 or 16-bit indexingon both wheels for maximum designflexibility. Requires the industry-standardexternal 24 volt power supply unit.

RevoProdual programmable rotatorThe most feature-laden of all the Roscogobo rotators, the RevoPro offerscomplete DMX controlled indexing featuresor a stand-alone programmable mode thatrequires no DMX. This unit operates on(auto-sensing) 100-240v mains powerand does not require an external powersupply unit.

The Union Jack flag is a multi-colored Rosco custom glass gobo. Butits created from artwork in the Rosco i-Pro image library. So the

production didnt have to pay the artwork set-up costs usually requiredfor a custom gobo. A good value and a great effect.

Roscos Infinity animation device wasaffixed to two overlapping spotlightsto generate this realistic rain effect.

  • X24 X-Effects projectorThis has become the projector of choice forshows or installations requiring a fire orwater effect. It provides stunning ripplinglight effects previously unavailable todesigners. The projector is available withon-board DMX for theatrical applicationsand in an analogue version for retail, museum or architectural applications.

iPro image projectorA simple device provides an ingenioussolution. The i-Pro Image Projectorprojects an image created from a simpleplastic slide. Attach an i-Pro Slidecartridge to the back plate of the i-ProImage Projector and insert it into theiris slot of any one of several commonluminaries. Then simply turn on the light toproject anything from a dazzling fullcolor panorama to a corporate logo, oreven a last minute custom gobo texture.

infinity animation unitThe Infinity Gobo Animation Unit offerssuperb kinetic lighting effects combinedwith simplicity of use and low cost. Thedevice affixes to the gel frame of virtuallyany spotlight. You can choose from among11 animation disks listed in the Roscocatalogue and web site. Affix one of thedisks to the device, place a steel or glassgobo in the gate, plug the Infinity into anoutlet or dimmer and watch magic appearon your stage or installation.

rosco projectorsThe three devices all project images but each in a different way and for different effects. TheX24 X-Effects is a self-contained projector which rotates two gobos off centre of the opticalpath, resulting in a projection that does not appear to have a visible pattern or path. Both thei-Pro Image Projector and the Infinity Animation Device are accessories which will fit virtually allthe spotlights in common use.

    re-positioning light beams

DMX irisRoscos DMX iris is a quiet, dependable accessory to reduceand enlarge the beam spread of theatrical spotlights. The 24-leaf motorized iris unit creates an even edged, perfectly roundaperture all the way down to its smallest diameter. The devicerequires a non-dim circuit and uses just one channel of DMX512. It does not require an external power supply.

I-Cue intelligent mirrorThe I-Cue Intelligent Mirror allows you to re-position thebeam of light so a single spotlight in a fixed position canilluminate dozens of different locations. The device includesonboard DMX, which means that control and direction of themirror -- and the beam it reflects -- is available through yourlighting control system. The industry standard DMX protocolassures accurate and repeatable beam placement.

Rosco offers two affordable accessories for better control of stage light. Both include DMXcontrol and both fit into virtually all brands of spotlights used in todays theatres. Roscos I-Cuere-positions light beams and the DMX Iris reduces or enlarge light beams. Both are robustenough for touring or frequent use and both are ultra-quiet.

Lighting designer Traci Klainer didnt have enough fixtures available for the multiple special she needed in an Off-Broadway production. The RoscoI-Cue solved her problem. In this scene, for example, the I-Cue helped capture the shows main character in a moment of chaos as he was being

interviewed by a press of reporters with flashbulbs going off. For just a few seconds, the actor looked like a deer caught in the headlights.
