Then Jesus said to the disciples, If any of you wants tobe my follower, you must put aside your selfish

ambition, shoulder your cross, and follow me. If you tryto keep your life for yourself, you will lose it. But if you

give up your life for me, you will find true life.- Matthew 16:24,25

The problem: Putting aside selfish ambition

What is your selfish ambition?

God wants to be in the drivers seat.

HOW DO I LOSE CONTROL?

1. Identify the needBecause all people have sinned, they have fallen short of Gods

glory. Romans 3:23

2. Understand His willA thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so

they can have real and eternal life, more and better life thanthey ever dreamed of. John 10:10

3. Enable the helpTwo are better than one, because they have a good return fortheir work Ecclesiastes 4:9

Part 3: Choosing the Right Course

Then Jesus said to the disciples, If any of you wants tobe my follower, you must put aside your selfish

ambition, shoulder your cross, and follow me. If you tryto keep your life for yourself, you will lose it. But if you

give up your life for me, you will find true life.

The problem: Deciding which route to take

What thing am I following rather thanwatching it fade in the rear-view mirror?

God wants us to follow Him because Hesworth following!

DECIDING A ROUTE

1. Recognize the dangers of a wrong turn

2. Realize the need for proper direction

For I know the plans I have for you, says the LORD.They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give

you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11

3. Reach out for others help

A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but twocan stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for

a triple-braided cord is not easily broken. Ecclesiastes 4:12

Make certain your driver is qualified
