@nd it was in uly of *DDI - discovered - have @sperger&s 6yndrome. -t was a moment that changedmy life forever. -&ve always known - was different and for once - was relieved to finally know why.

6ince then - have done everything - can to try to educate the public and show them that being on theautism spectrum doesn&t have to be a negative eperience.

My !ourney eventually led me to publishing my own monthly newsletter, Planet Nilknarf,in 'ovember

of *DD9, shortly after my second Heneva @utism 6ymposium. -t is there where - share ecerpts frommy everyday life, random thoughts and musings, upcoming events and various art pro!ects on the go.-&ve discovered the wonderful world of 8uilting and - continue to share tidbits from my eciting travelsover the years.

@nd, of course, it&s been a new home for my series of Life With Louellacomic strips that -&d originallycreated for the Dufferin Dogstar. %hese comic strips reflected a special time in my life, inspired bysome of the trials and tribulations anette and - faced when we first made our decision to move to%oronto, and were part of the seemingly carefree days before "utthead, as - call him, stepped into mylife and turned everything upside down. "utthead and - lived together from uly of ())J until May of())9. %he less said about him the better.

%hose remaining years between "utthead and 2ave were an eciting time of reinventing myself withmy music, new friends and being an etra in E2etroit ock ity. - reali1e -&m backtracking here, but mylife has been a pretty eciting adventure and my Life With Louellaseries reflects a uni8ue chapter,rich with pop culture references and inside !okes of the time. -t is another eample of how -&ve foundhealing and creative epression in my art and one of the best things -&ve ever done. @t least duringthat particular chapter of my life.

6ometimes - think - would like to do more Life With Louella stories for the apid %. abbit show,especially a %. version of this particular story, or a se8uel where Millie and Miles get married. -n fact -have other comic strips which -&ve started in Planet Nilknarf such as The NotSoLittle Mermai!and

"ore#ord$Gim 6nyder >left is a good friend - met through my friend ichard oncepcion >right. %his picture wastaken of the three of us with huck . heese in the summer of ())+. - was shocked and saddened tolearn that Gim had passe away in March of *DD*, from the same kind of flesh7eating pneumonia thatim 5enson had died from. %he first thought -&d had upon receiving that news was, strangely enough,E6he&s gone canoeing with 4ocahontas. %he last time - saw Gim was the summer of ())I. ;e&dvisited the 'ew 0ork 6tate Fair in 6yracuse on that trip, as well as the Hanongadon -ndian %rails, andit was the summer that ;ald 2isney&s Pocahontaswas in movie theatres everywhere and the sub!ectof one of my latest obsessions at the time. ;hile we were at one of the malls in ochester, - boughtmyself the book of the original story of 4ocahontas and was impressed to learn that she was the first'ative @merican to become a hristian and be bapti1ed, an idea pretty much ignored by 2isney. 6oGim, 4ocahontas and - are all sisters in hrist and we will see each other in 5eaven.

;hile Gim and - knew each other here on earth we had a lot of fun riding horses together, both realand on carousels. @nd - en!oyed illustrating several stories she had written. -n the summer of ())+when ichard and - stayed with her, Gim and - slept in a tent where we en!oyed chatting late at nightbefore we drifted off to sleep. - regret that - kind of lost touch with her during her final years.

-n the meantime - came across this story she had written. - was going to illustrate it for the apid %.abbit show but never got around to it. "esides, cars aren&t really something -&m as good at drawing.

>6pecial 'ote: %his story is written by a human who has contact with 5eadon and "ackstretch.5owever, since this is supposed to be 3ouella&s adventure, it is written from her point f view.

( 3ouella was tagging along with Margaret and Margaret&s friend anette at an anti8ue car showin 3indsay. 6he was bored with the endless rows of cars stretching across the field. E;hat&s sogreat about a bunch of old cars? she thought. E'ow if these cars stood on their headlights ordid stunts, that would be interesting.

* 6uddenly 3ouella&s sensitive ears picked up a faint E4sstA behind her. %hinking that one of thecars had sprung a leak in a tire, she turned around. @ll she saw was a row of anti8ue trucks.

very dark windows. 3ouella went for a closer look.+ E5m. 3ooks like a custom !ob. 3ouella remarked after looking the truck over. - wonder why

someone parked it here with these trucks?E- parked myself here because it was the first spot - could duck into. said a voice.

I E;ho said that? 3ouella asked, looking wildly around.E'ot so loud. - don&t want to attract attention. the voice said. 3ouella reali1ed that it was the truck that

was talking.

# - must be watching too many Mr. d reruns. she said, scratching her head.E- don&t know who Mr. d is but my name&s 5eadon. & the truck said.

$ E;hat are you doing here? 3ouella asked.E-&m looking for another car. 5is name is "ackstretch. 5e and - had a slight argument and the kid droveoff. Feeling responsible, - followed him and tracked him down here.E6o why don&t you drive around and look for him? 3ouella asked.E- would but my scanners have picked up the presence of two of our enemies so - don&t dare move.%hat&s why - need your help.
