MissionLife Styles enthusiastically supports individuals with disabilities in reaching their full potential as contributing members of the community.

Community OverviewLife Styles has been in existence since 1976 as an alternative to institutional placement. Founder Carol Hart began Life Styles with the belief that all people have value and a place in the community.

We have numerous programs and services to support the inclusion of individuals in the community. Programs include Supported Living, Supported Employment, College for Living, Launch, School to Work Transition, Project Search, and more.

Life Styles’ clients spend time in the community as employees, volunteers, and customers. Through partnerships in the community clients are able to experience life in a way that might not be possible without Life Styles.

About Life Styles & PoloLife Styles is firmly grounded in the belief that community life is for everyone, that all people have value and that when individuals with disabilities are given the opportunity and support to participate and contribute to the community, all of our lives are enriched.

In 1989 the Buell family and Life Styles joined forces to host the first Polo in the Ozarks match and gala in hopes of creating a unique charity event that raised awareness and funding for the mission of Life Styles. Over the past 24 years more than 20,000 attendees and polo players from around the world have made their way to the Buell farm in Goshen for Polo in the Ozarks.

Polo in the Ozarks features a variety of foods from around the world served by tailgates lining the playing field, children’s activities, live and silent auctions, and ends with dining and dancing under the stars with live music.

Each tailgater is responsible for decorating and serving food around the theme of their country. We will assign you a country and encourage that you sign up early as countries are assigned on a first-come first-serve basis. In order to ensure that all of our participants and attendees have the best time possible at Polo in the Ozarks, our Board of Directors has created the following guidelines for tailgaters:

Businesses/individuals are responsible for the following:» $100 entry fee (waived for Sponsors) which gets you 4 Gala tickets (valued at $300).» Drinks and cups for approximately 300 guests.» White tent must be rented from Life Styles. Tables and linens can be rented at $5.00 each, chairs $2.75 each. » Coordinating with paired Restaurant to create an overall Polo tailgating experience for the country of their choosing.

Restaurants are responsible for the following:» Light hors d’œuvres for approximately 300 guests.» Plates, napkins, utensils, and staff for serving food.» Coordinating with paired business to create an overall Polo tailgating experience for the country of their choosing.

Contributors may use the Polo in the Ozarks name in advertising and promotional materials only with the written permission of

Life Styles, Inc. All requests must be submitted in writing, with samples if applicable, to Life Styles a minimum of three days before media deadlines. Life Styles may withhold its consent to use the name Polo in the Ozarks for any reason it deems necessary.

Contributors are entitled to the rights and benefits associated with the sponsorship level indicated on the appropriate page of the Sponsorship Packet. Life Styles reserves the right to make non-material modifications to those benefits from time to time.

Life Styles shall not be responsible for damages that result from delays or postponements of Polo in the Ozarks due to circumstances beyond our control.

Alex Livingston joined Project SEARCH, a division of the Supported Employment department, in the fall of 2013 and immediately excelled in working with computers. His drive and leadership qualities shined throughout the program and before he completed his third rotation, he was offered a position with Washington Regional Medical Center. In March of 2014, Alex accepted the position of PC/LAN Tech in the Information Systems department.

Alex has thrived in his position, enhancing his technical skills and learning to solve complex computer problems. Alex continues to be a mentor and outstanding role model for new Project SEARCH interns and he is always willing to speak to interns about his experience. In less than two years, he was named Employee of the Year in a system-wide vote of Washington Regional staff. This amazing honor included an engraved clock, a bonus, a week of paid time off and gift certificates. Alex has grown so much since he joined Life Styles and there’s no doubt he will continue being successful in life and in work. Alex is just one of the many individuals that has benefitted from the services that Life Styles has to offer. The support that we receive has a direct impact on the lives of the individuals with disabilities in our program.
