ROADS =Reinventing Options for Adolescents Deserving Success

• Do you deserve success?

• Why do you think we decided to compare our school to a road?

• What does the idea of a path have to do with learning?

• What path do you want to be on?

Page 3: Life plots

Roads are never built equally• Some roads are rocky built over mountains.

• Some are paved well but some have overgrowth and cracks.

• We all have obstacles that stand in the way of us getting to our goals

What is PLOT???????

•Plot is a literary term defined as the events that make up a story.

•The Plot is the TIMELINE or PATH that the characters are on.

•Plot points are significant events that change the path the character is on.

Page 6: Life plots

Plot Points can be GOOD or BAD

•Just like characters, we all have our own plots and obstacles that we face: We are all affected by low-points and high points in our life. Our failures, our sad moments, our accomplishments and successes.

Page 7: Life plots

For Example: Woody

Woody is given to

Andy

Woody is “replaced” as favorite toy by Buzz

Woody accidentally pushes Buzz

out a window, but is favorite

again!

But then the other toys

blame Woody for “killing”

Buzz

Buzz finds Woody and

plans on bringing him

back to show the

others

Buzz and Woody end up in the

claw game and get taken to

Sid’s house

Woody and Buzz make up and plot to run away from Sids

The plot works,

Woody and Buzz stay

friends and the story

ends.
