• First, the introduction of sewers increases our life expectancy because of reducing the spread of disease.

• Second, the change in life expectancy was caused by the near elimination of infant mortality in the world, especially the Western world.

• Third, the change of life expectancy was due largely to the eradication and control of numerous infectious diseases and to advances in agricultural technology (such as chemical fertilizers)

• Overall, improvements in medicine, public health, and nutrition increased our lifespan.

1. Life expectancy can be reduced for people exposed to high levels of highway air pollution or industrial air pollution. Also, occupation has a effect on life expectancy. (ex: manual labor, miner)

2. Nowadays, obesity-related diseases (heart disease, diabetes) have become a major public health issue in many countries. So obesity is thought to have reduced the life expectancy.

3. AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) also affects the life expectancy principally in Sub-Saharan Africa. There are many people suffering from AIDS.

4. Poverty contributes a great deal of differences to life expectancy especially between countries.

1.Eat dark chocolate-A source of antioxidants to destroy cancer and

reduces cholesterol.

2.Be optimistic-Thinking positively about ageing extends your

life by 7.5 years.

3.Get just enough sleep-Seven hours is the optimum period and any

more or less than that increases the risk of illness and early death. (University of Nagoya, USA)

4.Eat a balanced diet

5.Get married-Marriage has long been regarded as good for people’s

mental and physical health

6.Move to the country-countryside dwellers have a life expectancy of 84 years,

as opposed to 76 for townies.

7.Drink a little red wine-A glass of red wine is rich in antioxidants called

polyphenols which cut the risk of heart disease by 25 percent. (Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, USA)

8.Eat leafy vegetables-Green leafy vegetables are packed with

antioxidants and folic acid.

9.Feast on fish-Omega 3 oil helps avoid clotting, heart disease,
