These armed militias are so barbarian, they are committing crimes against

humanity and no one is recognising that. There is a complete blackout on

what is going on here. All the shelling against the city is random, bodies are in

the streets for both sides and others are still under rubble no one can help as

they will be shelled too.

There is only one hospital in the whole of Bani Walid, where more than 100,000

people live. It is already in an appalling situation and lacks most of the basic

medical stuff. Water and power are cut but people have stored food at home.

Some of the families started to flee to escape the shelling. More than

50,000 people left but the route outside the city is a rocky and desert one

and really hard to go through with children. Other families dec ided to stay for

fear of robbery. People are worried to leave their houses and come back to f ind

everything is stolen.

I left during the liberation war but when I came back I found my car was stolen.

This time I am staying and will die in my home. We call upon the humanitarian

society to come and help us as the city is entirely sealed off and even fleeing

is not safe.

This is an act of revenge and racism. People have decided to defend their

homes and honour with the arms they have and I can assure you if the situation

continues like that, Libya will slip to a c ivil war eventually.

They are destroying an entire city but people will not keep silent, there

are more than 53 tribes in Bani Walid and they have decided to die for

I dont know if the NTC really represents the Misrata militias that are ac tually

doing the fighting, so the situation is a bit more anarchic. I dont know that

theres anyone who would really own up to such a thing.

Zintan brigades in the past this year have been accused of using gas, so its

not the first time.

shelling of a city, where are the c ries for human rights intervention, military or

Outside of Libya itself, one strains to hear any such voices. And of course, this

is because the NATO attack on Libya was never about human rights to

begin with.

Indeed, the nightmarish human rights situation confronting Libya

notwithstanding, NATOs mission in Libya has been accomplished in full. A

nationalist government which controlled Libyas oil, to a large extent for

the benefit of the Libyan people, has been toppled.

That chaos now reigns, along with c rimes against the population, is of no

consequence to the West so long as it continues to have unfettered control of

Libyas oil the grand prize all along.

The Gadaffi Mosque in Kampala is believed to be the best and largest

mosque in sub-Saharan Africa.

At the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC), the fall of Gadaffi meant the

laying off of workers, especially casual workers employed by the mosque.

The Mufti, Sheikh Shaban Mubajje, has however, assured the Muslim community

of continuous maintenance of the mosque.

= TOORO KINGDOM: Gadaffi was a important friend to Tooro Kingdom,

because the kingdom received immense material support from him.

Because of Gadaffi 's financial contribution to the kingdom, in 1996, King Oyo

honoured him with the Omujwarakondo (defender of the kingdom), which is the

highest honour in the kingdom. Since the founding of Toro Kingdom in 1830,

nobody had been given the honour.

Kingdom officials, however, say if Gadaffi was alive, he would have supported

several projects in the kingdom.

Some of the projects that have stalled due to lack of funds are the King Oyo

Hospital, which was supposed to be constructed in Kyejonjo district.

Months after Gadaffi 's death, a plaque to remember his support towards the

renovation of the Toro Kingdom Palace, was removed under unclear

circumstances. The plaque has been there since 2001.

Namara says the kingdom will not hold any special function in memory of

Gadaffi .I suppose they want to ask for help LIBYAN "NEW GOVERNMENT"

or AFRICOM who don't like "special finction in memory of Gaddafi"?
