Libertyville JCats Feeder Frenzy Tournament Rules & General Information

• There will be a $5.00 admission charge for adults only, good for the entire day. Children

admitted free. Team members and up to three (3) coaches per team are admitted free of charge.

• There are no lockers, showers or towels available for players. Please make the necessary

arrangements to be dressed and ready to play at the appropriate time.

• Scoreboard operators and official score keepers will be supplied.

• All IHSA rules will apply with the following exceptions:

Any team that is not ready to play five minutes after their scheduled game time will forfeit that

game.

Games will consist of two 14-minute halves, with a stopped clock the entire game.

Halftime will be 5 minutes long (subject to keeping games on schedule).

Each team will have two 30-second time outs per half. Timeouts do not carry over.

Teams will be allowed one (1) 30-second time out total for overtimes.

• Defenses:

8th Grade: No Restrictions

5th–7th Grades: No restrictions full-court. Man-to-man only with temporary double-teaming or

trapping on ball allowed in the frontcourt.

No team will be allowed to press when leading by 15 points or more.

5th grade will be allowed to press in the last 5 minutes of the game only.

• Overtime will start with a jump ball and will be one (1) minute long with a stopped clock. If

required, the second overtime will start with a jump ball and will be one (1) minute long with a

stopped clock. A third or any additional overtime period necessary will start with a jump ball and will

be played as sudden death with the first team to score a point(s) declared the winner.

• Three point shots are allowed for all grades.

• The referees have full authority on the courts and will not tolerate any inappropriate behavior

by fans, coaches or players.

• Two technical fouls will result in ejection from the game for any player or fan receiving them

along with the Head Coach. Coaches are responsible for the conduct of their players and fans.

Anyone receiving 2 technical fouls in a game will be asked to leave the premises and will not be

allowed back in for the remainder of the tournament. The game will not resume until the coach

and player have left the court area. If refusal to leave within 5-minutes, the game will be

forfeited.

• Tie breaker determinations: 1.) Head to head 2.) Fewest points allowed 3.) Coin flip

• New this year – This tournament is an official qualifier for the Illinois state basketball championship.

The winner of each grade and runner up will qualify to play in Rockford, IL March 15th-17th.
