Liberty University Club Sports Visiting Team Guide

To help accommodate and assist you and your team during your

stay in Lynchburg Virginia, Liberty University’s Club Sports

Department has created this guide to help with any questions

you may have during your visit.

CLUB SPORTS

Facilities Information E a s t C a m p u s F a c i l i t i e s :  Paintball  Complex: The paintball complex is comprised of two

fields each with retractable netting. The paintball fields are

located on Liberty University’s East Campus.

 

Liberty  Lacrosse  Field:  The lacrosse field was completed in 2011

and is home to our Men’s Lacrosse team. The lacrosse field is

located on Liberty University’s East Campus.

 

Disc  Golf  Course: The Disc Golf Course, completed in 2012, is a

full size 18-hole course located on Liberty University’s East

Campus.

 

Beach  Volleyball  Courts:  Completed in 2012, there are four

beach volleyball courts located on Liberty University’s East

Campus.

 East Campus Directions:

 FROM 29 NORTH (from Charlottesville, Va.) Take 29 South toward Lynchburg for approximately 60 miles. Merge

onto US-29 South/US-460 West toward Lynchburg/Danville. Take the

University Blvd. exit; turn left at the light. Make your first left beside

the Football stadium going across the bridge. Make a right after the

bridge. Follow the road to the East Campus facilities.

N o r t h C a m p u s F a c i l i t i e s :  LaHaye  Ice  Center:  Home to Liberty University’s Men’s and

Women’s hockey teams, the LaHaye Ice Center was

constructed in 2006 and has a seating capacity of

approximately 3,000. The LaHaye Ice Center is centrally

located on Liberty’s campus.

 Snowflex  Centre: Home to the Ski & Snowboard team, Snowflex

was constructed in 2009. The ski hills are covered with

synthetic material designed to simulate the slip and grip

effects of snow.

 N o r t h C a m p u s D i r e c t i o n s :

 FROM 29 NORTH (from Charlottesville, Va.) Take 29 South toward Lynchburg for approximately 60 miles. Merge

onto US-29 South/US-460 West toward Lynchburg/Danville. Take the

University Blvd. exit.

TO THE LAHYE ICE CENTER: Go straight through the lights. After

the lights, make the first right into the parking lot of the LaHaye Ice

Center, which will be located on your right.

TO THE SNOWFLEX CENTRE: Turn right at the lights. Make the

next right onto Candler’s Mountain Road. Follow the mountain up to

the Snowflex Centre on your left.

O f f - C a m p u s F a c i l i t i e s :  Ivy  Lake: Ivy Lake was donated to Liberty University in 2008

and is now the home of Liberty’s Crew team. Ivy Lake is a 112-

acre lake located 15 minutes away from Liberty’s campus.

D i r e c t i o n s t o I v y L a k e :   FROM 501 NORTH

Take 501 North for 3.4 miles. Take Graves Mill Road, exit 11.

Turn left off the ramp onto Graves Mill Road. Go 2 miles and

turn left onto US 221/Forest Road. Go 3.6 miles and turn right

onto Perrowville Road. Go 2 miles and turn right onto Ivy Lake

Drive.

 

The  Sports  Racket:  Home to the racquetball team, The Sports

Racket holds five state-of-the-art racquetball courts located 15

minutes from Liberty University’s campus.

  Directions  to  The  Sports  Racket:  

FROM 501 NORTH

Take 501 North and continue onto Old Forest Road. Turn left

onto State Route 620/Wiggington Road then turn left onto Davis

Cup Road.

The  Equestrian  Center:  Students have the opportunity to

explore miles of scenic trails throughout Liberty’s mountain

property. Trails range from a brief loop around the equestrian

property to trekking across the mountain and are suited to the

newest beginner, the seasoned rider or the experienced

competitor looking for conditioning opportunities .

Directions  to  The  Sports  Racket:  

FROM 501 NORTH

Head southwest on Lynchburg Expy/Old Forest Rd toward

Chapel Ln. Continue to follow Lynchburg Expy (4.4 mi). Next,

take the ramp onto US-501 S/VA-128 E/Candlers Mountain Rd

(0.5 mi). Then, make a slight right onto Candlers Mountain Rd

(3.9 mi). Finally, Turn left onto Co Rd 670/Sunnymeade Rd. The

Equestrian Center will be on the left (1.6 mi).
