HOUSE TEAM

The 3 Houses at Liberton are Dee, Forth and Tay. Each pupil and staff member at Liberton High School belongs to a House. When you find out what class you are in, it will either be a D, F or T class and that will tell you which house you have joined!

Each house has a Depute Head Teacher, a Pupil Support Leader, and a link member of the Support for Learning Department. Or Wellbeing Hub. This is a core Team of people who are here to support you in all aspects of school, from settling in, learning and developing to eventually helping you prepare to leave! This team will support you all the way through your time at Liberton.

HOW DOES MY TIMETABLE WORK?

• Your S1 timetable will contains a number of different subjects; these will include English, Maths, Science, PE, Music, Art and many more

• Some subjects happen more than once in a week and sometimes you may have more than one teacher for each subject.

• At the top of the timetable you will see your name, Registration Class (e.g. 1TA) and stage (S1). The other piece of information that you will see on your timetable is your Practical Set (it will be your year group followed by a number ie1.8).

• You spend some of your lessons in your Registration class and some lessons in your Practical Set. Practical Sets are used for subjects such as Home Economics and Science and are slightly smaller classes due to the practical work you will be doing like cooking and experiments!

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A LIBERTON S1

The times for our School day are as follows:

Monday to Thursday School Starts at 8.30am and finishes at 3.35pm

Period 1 8.30-9.20

Period 2 9.20-10.10

BREAK 10.10-10.25

Period 3 10.25-11.15

Period 4 11.15-12.05

Period 5 12.05-12.55

LUNCH 12.55-1.45

Period 6 1.45-2.35

Period 7 2.35-3.25

On a Friday School ends after period 5 at 12.55pm for the weekend!!!!
