About the collaborationTCS & LIBA under the academic interface program driven by TCS have jointly entered

into a collaboration for developing business analysts who could be employable and

future leaders in the domain and its selected functional areas of applications. TCS

facilitates towards developing and designing and/or providing industry specific

application oriented courses in the area of Business Analytics to be offered as Executive

Postgraduate Diploma in Business Analytics in the weekend mode. This is being

considered by TCS with an objective of creating highly skilled technical manpower

resources.

The Programme leading to the Executive Diploma

in Business Analytics is designed as a structured

learning system in analytics domain focused to

give a thorough understanding of the domain and

application of its tools and techniques in selective

functional areas. LIBA along with TCS as an industry

partner to offer this programme. With its expertise,

TCS will be able to add value to the students of LIBA,

which is unique and first of its relationship with a

management school.

To quote Ranjan Bandyopadhyay, Vice-President,

HR, TCS : “Analytics is emerging as a key growth

area spanning industries. The need of the hour is

talent that can work on delivering carefully-crafted

analytics solutions, insights and recommendations

to businesses. The courses that TCS will design

as part of the collaboration with LIBA will bring

contemporary, application-oriented inputs to the

classroom.”

We expect students with a background in IT,

programming, and data mining who are working IT

and ITES sector and also in other user industries like

banking, insurance, financial services, healthcare,

pharmaceuticals, consumer product groups,

auto motive including components and parts

manufacturing, retail and entertainment and so on

would especially benefit from the course.

Although it is intended essentially for the working

professionals, the Programme can also help fresh

graduates with better prospects in analytics based

management decisions and with technology and

user firms. However, students are expected to have

strong interests and competency in mathematics,

statistics and data tools.

The Programme is designed with learning modules

based on analytical approaches and software

applications to achieve the objective of providing

knowledge and skill essential for successful

management professionals in business analytics.

The Course Plan

Classes would be through class room, online sessions, lab work and a numerous applications and case discussions. There would be some virtual support that would be available. Wherever there is scope for providing supplementary learning in these subjects, the same would be supported by faculty. Students who fail to qualify in Mathematics and Statistics in Term I would be asked to redo the programme with the batch in the following year.

The programme would be taught on Saturday and Sunday at LIBA campus, Chennai. Typically in a week end students would have to spend about five hours on Saturdays and three hours on Sundays. The classes will be held on Saturdays from 1.00 pm to 8.30 pm and Sundays from 9.00 am to 12.15 pm and 1.00 pm to 4.15 pm.

Persons satisfying the following criteria are eligible to apply:

● Any engineering graduate / Graduate of Science (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics)/ Graduate in Commerce / Arts like Economics with Mathematics as a paper from a recognized University. Candidate should have secured a minimum of 60% marks in the aggregate.

● Candidates with work experience will be given preference.

● Candidates, who are provisionally selected, based on the interview must produce the following at the time of paying the fees:

● Degree Certificate in Original/Provisional along with an Attested Copy

● Mark Sheet in Original along with an Attested copy

● Two Passport-sized Colour Photographs

● Candidate awaiting results should produce the Degree Certificate (final/provisional) before September 30, 2019. Failure to do so will result in the removal of candidates name from the rolls of the Institute and forfeiture of fees paid.

● The Selection Committee will make a preliminary screening of the applications and the short-listed candidates will be called for a personal interview. The call letter will have the exact date and timing. The interview date is on 07 September 2019 at 3.30 pm in LIBA.

Given below is the Fee Structure for the Diploma Programme during 2019 - 2020

This refundable deposits will be payable along with the First Term Fees. The same will be refunded to the student by cheque while student graduates or leaves from the Institute, after verifying that there are no outstanding dues.
