What is leukemia?

• Leukemia is a blood cell cancer• When blood cells do not function and produce

the same way, problems start occuring within the body

Where does leukemia start?

• Leukemia starts in blood forming tissue, like bone marrow.

• There are different blood cells that can be effected and can cause different types of leukemia

• The production of the different cells may be mutated changing the signal of what the cell is suppose to do

• There are four main types of leukemia cancers, each can be broken down into smaller subdivisions
