MARC’S MISSION Our mission is to provide corporate and service industry relocation professionals the opportunity to meet and work together on a regular basis to educate, to learn and to share knowledge and experiences about current relocation practices and merging relocation issues in an effort to better serve and address the diverse needs of relocating employees and their families.
Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to serve as the 2015 President of MARC. I truly appreciate your trust and confidence in me and I am proud to have the opportunity to work with this dynamic and professional organization.
Henry Ford once said,”Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success”. MARC was formed in 1987 when 15 individuals felt the need for a group of relocation professionals to come together to form a group with the mission to provide corporate and service industry relocation professionals the opportunity to meet and work together on a regular basis to educate, to learn and to share knowledge and experiences about current relocation practices.
Over the past 28 years MARC has been kept together through the efforts of its members and its leaders. I am very fortunate to have had so many leaders pave the way for me, that have created the strong foundation that MARC encompasses. I want to thank Karen McRae for her leadership this past year, as 2014 MARC President. I also want to thank the Board of Directors and officers this year. It is an honor to see the many passionate volunteers, whose investment of time, on behalf of MARC, helps us provide opportunities for the entire membership. As with any successful organization, the strength of MARC lies in its members. Please know that your input is valued and we need your continued support and commitment as we move into the new year. My challenge for each member is to become involved in a committee and to participate at our meetings. It is through the contributions and involvement of you, our dedicated members, that we will be able to continue to work together to ensure the success of MARC. I am very fortunate to be affiliated with such a wonderful group and I look forward to working with each of you this year. Please feel free to contact me for any reason! Sincerely, Wallace Hitt

The Metro Atlanta Relocation Council (MARC) is proud to announce our fifth annual MARC Scholarship Program for current high school seniors who have relocated into the Atlanta area over the course of their high school career.
The student must have relocated more than 50 miles sometime between grades 9 (after completion of 8th grade) and 12 and changed schools due to their family’s relocation. Residence eligibility is defined as a senior attending a private or public school in any city or county district within Cobb, Fulton, DeKalb, or Gwinnett Counties as well as any county immediately bordering these counties. They must also have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0 (or equivalent achievement on a different scale).
Students will be evaluated on academic performance, extra-curricular activities, and on their response to an essay addressing the way they handled the challenges associated with relocating to a new area and a new high school.
A one-time award of $1,500 will be presented to two area high school seniors this year and will be sent directly to the college that the students will be attending to assist with tuition, etc.
Please join us for what always proves to be an enjoyable awards presentation as we get to meet these two fine young people at our Spring Meeting on April 30th!

The Cobb Galleria was the site of this year’s MARC ED Forum. There were 120 members and guests in attendance. We had four key sessions on a broad range of topics: Rick Duke, President & CEO of Georgia BRE Insights kicked off the meeting with a Real Estate and Economic Update. He was followed by Brian McGowan, COO & SVP Economic Development at the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce provided a full overview of Georgia’s growing economy and updated us on some recent headquarter announcements to the area. A panel of experts including Dave Stockert (Post Properties), John Hunt (ViaSearch) and Teresa Palacios Smith (Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices) offered insights on what is happening on the apartment and rental housing side and new home construction. After lunch, DJ Stephan, President of Allen Tate Corporate Services, Beth Pasiak, Vice President for Graebel Worldwide Relocation and Tom Dempsey, Business Director for Quicken Loans offered their expertise on the future Consumer Financial Protection Bureau regulatory changes that will take effect in August 2015. Mark Frederick, Director of Global Talent Management for IOR Global Services briefed the group on the role of global mobility in developing global leaders. MARC hosted a reception immediately after and had over 50 members stay to enjoy food and wine! Thanks to all of those who participated, attended, and of course to all our sponsors for allowing us to put on such a successful event. Special recognition go out to MARC program committee for organizing such a great event.
