The Divine Dance: The Trinity and Your

Transformation A study on this book by Richard Rohr will begin on Thursday,

November 2, 2017 at 7pm. This invitation is extended to the body of Micah Churches and it will be held at St. George’s Episcopal Church in Faulkner Hall, led by Lew Doggett from Christ Lutheran Church. Rohr says, “Jesus held separate from the other members of

the Trinity implies that faith is a static concept instead of a

dynamic and flowing one.” If you’re unfamiliar with Rohr, a Franciscan priest, you can access various of his videos on YouTube. It’s important for participants to have read at least the first half of the book before beginning the study. You can phone or email Lew Doggett (540-371-7793) or email [email protected] or Pastor Anne Jones Martine

(540-373-5087) or email [email protected] if you have any questions.

The 4th Grade Sunday School Class

will be presented with Bibles and hymnals

during the 11:00am service on

Sunday October 8th. Parents, please make plans to attend this special presentation with your children. Please contact Erin Silver to let her know if your 4th grader will be joining us for this recognition.

PrimeTimers to

Essex County Museum and Historical Society &

Lunch at Lowery’s Seafood Restaurant

in Tappahannock, VA

Friday, September 29

Plan to join us for a drive down to

Tappahannock for a great day of

exploration and dining. We will meet at the in the City Parking Lot Behind Shiloh Baptist Church Old Site at 9:00 am to board church buses for a drive down to Tappahannock and a tour of the Essex County Museum and Historical Society as

well as exploring downtown Tappahannock a bit before we enjoy a great seafood lunch at Noon.

Lunch will be on your own and the museum only asks for contributions. This small museum has great reviews and looks like a great place to explore 400 years of life along the Rappahannock River. It is filled with great Virginia History. Please sign up by calling (540) 373-4402 or

emailing Tammy in the church office ([email protected]).

Primetimers On-The-Go Again!

Fall Bicycle Ride

Saturday, October 14th

8:30 a.m.

If you enjoy riding your bike, and would like to join a group of adults from church in the beautiful Fall weather, then plan to join us on Saturday, October 14th. We will gather in the church parking lot at 8:30 a.m. and caravan to Hains Point in Washington, D. C. where we will park (for free) and then ride 8 ½ miles to Old Town Alexandria (about 45 minute ride on bicycle) on the Mount Vernon Bicycle Trail. This trail is mainly flat. Lunch will be on your own, and there are several

places to dine. There is even a Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream shop! Afterward, we will ride back to our parking area and then call it a day! We will plan to be back to the church parking lot by 2 pm that afternoon. If you don’t have your own bike, we have someone with a couple of extras that someone could ride. Please sign up by contacting Ann McGlone in the church office

[email protected] by no later than Friday, October 7th if

you are planning to join us. We will need to plan for the transport of the bicycles, and your timely reservations will make this much easier.

PrimeTimers to

Graves Mountain

Lodge

Monday,

October 16

9:00 a.m.

Join us for our annual pilgrimage to Graves Mountain Lodge!

We will leave the church at 9:00 a.m. and travel to Graves Apple Barn to gather apples from the bins. Afterward, we will head up the hillside to the lodge for a Fried Chicken lunch, served family-style! After lunch we will take a few minutes to rock on the front porch and browse the gift shop before heading to Yoder’s

Market on our way home. We should return to the church by 3:30. Please make your reservation by submitting your $23/person along with the names of those in your group

planning to participate. All reservations must be made by Sunday, October 8. We hope you’ll join in this annual celebration of Fall!
