(After the last note of the Overture a School Bell is heard. The Lights come up. Mrs.
Sweeney is on stage wiping down the front counter of "Sweeney's Soda Shop". Rhonda issweeping the floor. A huge group of kids come through the backdoor of the auditorium
and run up the center aisle to the stage.)

I remember back in September, You were so nervous to start High School.
MARGRET
It was a lot less harder than I thought, Right Betty?

This year was a lot easier than we thought, Right?

But this is the best soda shop in Illinois, and It's so popular around town everyone wouldhate to see it go.
