    Revealing the significance and measures accurately, fluently, and acceptable by using a

    variety of writen language in the context in daily life.

    1. The students are able to mention the punctuation.

    2. The students are able to identify the punctuation in each sentence.

    3. The students are able to use the punctuation in writing.

    IV. Explanation of Teaching - Learning Activities

    1. Opening

    Pre Activity (apperception):

    1. Teacher asking students to pray and greet.

    3. Explanation and Examples

    The Capital Letter

    The capital letter is used:

    When we begin a sentence or after a full stop (.):

    But this time Mr. Wonka didnt panic. He remained perfectly calm.

    With proper nouns:

    The ChiefCook was a Frenchman.

    For the first person singular I and when referring to a certain person.

    I handed him the pill.

    Im scared, Grandpa, he said.

    For the beginning sentence of a direct speech:

    Mr. Wonka! Charlie shouted. Dont you think this is about high enough?

    For abbreviations o initials:

    U.K. = United Kingdom

    D.C. = District of Columbia

    The Full Stop (.)

    The full stop is used:

    To mark the end of a sentence:

    Im the pilot. Dont fire your rockets until I tell you. In abbreviations:

    etc.

    The Question Mark (?)

    The question mark is used:

    After a question:

    But why? Why up not down?

    After a question tag:

    Thats easy enough isnt it?

    The Comma (,)

    The comma is used:

    To separate items on a list:

    The kitchens of this hotel are loaded with luscious food, lobster, steaks, ice cream.

    To seperate quotation from a sentence:

    That, said Mr. Wonka, is a chance we shall have to take.

    After a yes or no response:

    Yes, Id love one.

    No, Im not. I am a pilot.

    To show a pause in reading:

    Her hair was pure white and her hands, which were resting on top of the blanket , were

    just little lumps of wrinkly skin.

    To mark off the name of the person who is being addressed:

    Just look at the earth down there, Charlie, getting bigger and bigger!

    To mark off participle phrases and clauses:

    He kept silent a little longer, allowing their curiosity to grow.

    To mark off word like of course, however, well, and indeed:

    Well, its certainly been a busy day.

    The Exclamation Mark (!)

    The exclamation mark is used:

    To express surprise, anger, happiness, disbelief:

    Stop! I want to get off!

    Good job! Its really amazing!

    To express sounds:

    Wham! One squadron attacked.

    Crash! Another squadron smashed against the side of the Commuter Capsule.

    The Quotation Marks ( ) ( )

    The double quotation mark ( ) is used in direct speech:

    Were back, Mother! Charlie cried. Were in the Chocolate Factory!

    The single quotation mark ( ) is used in quotations, sayings and tittles of books,

    pictures, etc.

    Design is my favourite poem.

    She said that it was the most hypocritical government.

    The Apostrophe ()

    The apostrophe is used:

    To show possession:

    In short forms or contractions:
