Activity Teaching and Learning Strategy

Set induction (3 mins)1. Teacher recalls the previous

lesson on clothing- To recall

Shared Reading (15 mins)2. Teacher shows the sentence

strips and asks the pupils to read together.

3. This stage goes repeatedly to random students/group.

-Whole class reading activity. The reading session goes in varieties of stage development according to the narrative and dialogues conversation. At this stage, learners are able to practise new language in a limited form.

Practise Activity (10 mins)4. Teacher shows the pictures on

board in a sequel lines.

5. Teacher does the talks with students to recall more information about the story according to the recent activity.

6. Teacher asks the students to match the sentences strips to the correct pictures.

- At this stage, the activities consist into two parts:

i. Oral activity (WH-Q)

ii. Match activity

The objective of this stage is to ensure understanding among the students about the reading resources that they had read and learn.

Demonstration (15 mins)7. Teacher generates questions to

the students about changing the characters in the story through the brainstorming session.

8. Teacher divides the students into group of 5 and asks them to rewrite the story by making up new characters. Each students in group will write different stage of the story.

The objective of this activity is to generate more understanding and creativities among the students about the reading resource.

A weaker student probably sticks to the target language while a stronger student possibly mixes some new vocabulary on their own. This may challenge them to work in maximum ability.

Presentation (15 mins)9. Teacher asks group to come and

present their work in class. Each students will read their own task.

- This is the final stage where the students in group are challenged, engaged, and building fluency and accuracy in their reading activity.
