Alexandra Bellissimo Carsten Witte Jesus Gonzalez Rodriguez
CONTEXT: Born and raised in Los Angeles, contemporary conceptual photographer, body of work strongly revolves around the theory of “making” pictures instead of simply, “taking” pictures. She often incorporates collaging techniques, as well as digital manipulation to create each surreal photograph.
CONTEXT: Contemporary Photographer based in Hamburg and working in the fields of fashion, beauty and advertising. Born in 1964. In the ‘Intuition’ series skulls are painted on the face of the model before being photographed by Witte.
CONTEXT: Contemporary Venezuelan artist and photographer. In the ½ series he creates unsettling portraits by digitally collaging multiple photographs of individuals and ‘cutting’ out along their edges. each image is composed of a head-on and side view of the subject against a blank white wall, creating a nearly optical-illusion in which the portraits can appear momentarily normal until one’s eyes fall upon an outlying characteristic.
INFLUENCES: The subjects of Alexandra’s photographs are influenced through her observations of social, gender and psychological issues in our culture. Fascinated by human psychology and behavior. Each collage acts as a surreal interpretation of human emotions and feelings. Own personal thoughts, fears, and feelings have been a tremendous source of inspiration. Also draws inspiration from nature and by how aesthetically intriguing it can be.
INFLUENCES: “It’s always faces that fascinate me and this mysterious purity of really beautiful people“Witte's main idea behind this photo series was to show that beauty can and will fade faster than one thinks, but photography can "preserve the moment."Intuition by Carsten Witte reminds one that beauty does in fact come and go in the blink of an eye. In that case, one must live in the moment and preserve that moment with photographs.
INFLUENCES: Could include emotions, surrealism and abstract expressionism. Links have been made to the work of Pablo Picasso.

CONTEXT:. Christoffer Relander is a young and promising Finnish self-taught photographer, born in 1986, best known for the series of multi-exposed photographs. Relander is different to most other double exposure artists in that he does this using his camera only, not by digital editing.
CONTEXT: Contemporary photographer based in Portland Oregon USA. Byrne is different to most other double exposure artists in that she does this using her camera only, not by digital editing.
INFLUENCES: Series of photographs is called ‘We are nature’ specifically telling us his inspiration and meaning behind the images.
INFLUENCES: It’s no secret that I love to be outside and that big epic scenery is a huge inspiration for my photography, but a strong connection between two people inspires me more than any cliff or waterfall. I like people and I’m fascinated by their stories.

Andre De Freitas Aneta Ivanova Dan Mountford
Andre De Freitas Aneta Ivanova Dan Mountford
CONTEXT: Contemporary photographer and illustrator from Lima, Peru. Creates his double exposure images using digital editing.
CONTEXT: Contemporary photographer by passion, a web developer by profession. Twenty-two years old and lives in Varna, Bulgaria. Creates her double exposure images using digital editing.
CONTEXT: Contemporary Double exposure images are created using a traditional film camera rather than a modern DSLR.
INFLUENCES: Andre states his influences as: Ryan Pfluger, Damon Loble and Ryan Schude. He’s most into fashion and portrait photography as well as cinematography and comic books.
INFLUENCES: influenced by the work of Dan Mountford. Combined photographs of her travels with self-portraits and portraits of her sister in the series ‘Scars’. “I believe that each place we visit, everything that happens to us and everything we learn leaves a mark or a scar in our minds, deep inside. These images are my scars.”
INFLUENCES: His creative vision for his double exposures is one that stems from combining emotions with memories connected to specific people in his life. Inspired by more abstract photography than conventional. The series The Worlds Inside of Us was designed to be a visual journey through our minds by calm and tidy means which the reality of everyday life does not show.

Jasper James Nossair Chkerbouby Jon Jacobson
CONTEXT: Contemporary English photographer now based in Beijing. Images are not double exposure but actually reflections in glass.
CONTEXT: Contmeporary photographer possibly from Casablanca since the series is titled ‘Casablanca Portraits’.
CONTEXT:
INFLUENCES: This series is from a personal body of work shot in Tokyo, Japan and Shenzhen, China. These gorgeous overviews of the city life reflect interesting layers of construction and open narratives through silhouetted onlookers. James’ travels through China were the inspiration for this series, which gives us bird’s eye views with an unusual perspective. Using light and reflections from glass, James illustrates a picture of the city through the person viewing it, creating a familiar silhouette with splendid results.
INFLUENCES: Casablanca, city life, people. INFLUENCES:

Aims of today’s lesson
SO THAT WE CAN PRODUCE EVIDENCE FOR ASSESSMENT OBJECTIVE AO1.
8-9 grade will show A (EXCEPTIONALLY) HIGHLY DEVELOPED ABILITY to demonstrate your understanding of the work of others.
6-7 grade will show A CONSISTENT ABILITY to demonstrate your understanding of the work of others.
4-5 grade will show A MODERATE ABILITY to demonstrate your understanding of the work of others.
By the end of the lesson we will develop our understanding of photographers producing an artist analysis
Success criteria
AO1 means research artists and use what you learn to help you develop our own
ideas
Artist Analysis
When/where was the art work made? What was happening at that time? By who and how?
What influenced the photographer?
What was the photographer trying to do? Is there a theme to their work?
Context – After your research
Artist Image
Initial Response – Before you research
What could this be about?
Explain your ideas.
When do you think it was created? How do you think the photographer created it?
Give it a title – what would you call the photograph?
How has the photographer used colour , lighting and focus to show meaning/emotion?
