Lesson for pre-K group (2,5-3 years)

AT THE SEASIDE

Group: pre-kindergarten (2,5 – 3 years old)

Number of students: 20-25 kids

Time: 1 hour 30 min.

Curriculum:

• Greetings (good morning, afternoon, evening)

• Maths (count 1-10)• Colors• Parts of the body and face• Alphabet and simple words

Subject: English

Every lesson starts with the greetings:

• Good morning, teacher!

At the same time we repeat what we say in the afternoon and evening:

• Good afternoon! Good evening!

• Teacher can use the paper model for illustration:

To start the lesson, teacher makes the kids feel like they are at the seaside by singing a song:

Row, row, row the boat gently down the stream, merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily, life is but a dream!..

Now we’re going to learn the count 1-10:

Looking at the table and repeating…

…and singing a song “10 little fingers”,

using the CD and the sound system

Now we’re ready to go to the sea and play a fishing game!

Here we have the paper “sea” with color fish, the ring and the table with numbers 1-10.

Every kid will throw the ring into the sea and “catch” some fish!

We’ll collect that fish…

…count together, how many… …and find the right number on the table!..

Now we’re going to learn different colors.

In our sea we have some color “stones”. We can have lot’s of

fun, jumping on them!

We choose 6 kids for the 1st round.

Every kid gets one color, names it and remembers his “stone”.

When the teacher starts singing a song, kids start running around the “stones”.

Ready… GO!!...

Suddenly teacher stops singing! And all students should jump on their “stones” immediately!

Who’s the last one, or who makes a mistake – leaves the game… …and the game continues until

there’ll be only one, the winner!

From time to time kids can change colors together.

In our sea we can find some treasures… like this magic box.

What’s inside?..

There are the bright cards with parts of the body!

so everyone chooses the card…

…and names the part on the picture.

Finishing our lesson, we’re going to repeat English alphabet and some words.

First of all, we sing a song “A-B-C”

and then repeat the letters O-T and some words

We build a big “word bridge” to cross our sea!

This bridge is made of pictures.

And everyone can cross it, but only if he names all the pictures correctly!

Thank you for your attention!
