Lesson focus ( Guided Sheet) : Writing application letter MS4level
Which language skill(s) will the students work on (speaking, listening, reading, writing)?
Written Expression ( Situation of Integration) < writing process= brainstorming- planning – drafting- editing- publishing>
Which aspects of language will students focus on? e.g. vocabulary (words, phrases, idioms, etc.), pronunciation (phonemes, intonation, etc.), functions (polite requests, apologizing, etc.), grammar point(s), etc.

Lead in :
Learners are invited to pay attention at the following picture and try to interpret it.
Teacher may help them by asking these questions
Exercise : Look at the photo and try to answer these questions
1) Where does the situation take place? -> On a table.
2) What is happening? What’s the problem? -> Someone is trying to write a letter. How many times did he
try to write it? 14 times.
3) What sort of letter is this person writing? -> He may be writing...( teacher lists all the learners’ answers)
The teacher reports the learners answers on the board then invites them to read by pair question -answers
1) Brainstorming: -> Learners are invited to look at the following photos and try to talk about them and guess
the topic of the day.

3) Drafting:
Learners are invited to select from the elicited ideas the items that they see suits their preferences.
Learners are asked to write the first draft ( application letter & curriculum vitae), the teacher moves
and offers help once needed.
4) Editing:
Teacher helps the learners to edit their productions (learners are invited to read and correct their
productions) and write their final draft.
5) Publishing:
The learners are invited to read their production, then the teacher selects the best one, and invites the
learners to write down.
The teacher invites the learners to read and copy down on their copy books the selected , corrected
production.
