Lesson 5-Movement & Gestures
Begin
Movement & GesturesWhen telling a story, it is important to include movement and gestures to help your listener visualize the story. Watch the way this storyteller uses movement and gestures to help enhance their story.
Movement & Gesture Tips• Start out simple. Practice doing gestures of common events,
such as washing the dishes or brushing your teeth. • Face the audience. If you turn your back to the audience, they
can’t see the movement or gesture. • Make the action believable. Practice and observe yourself in a
mirror doing the action.
