    W !t is Writer#Writer is the word processor component of %ibreOffice. 4n addition to

    the usual features of a word processor (spelling chec ! thesaurus!h"phenation! autocorrect! find and replace! automatic generation of tablesof contents and inde es! mail merge! and others+.

    (the small vertical bar to the left of the toolbar+! hold down the leftmouse button! drag the toolbar to the new location! and then release themouse button.

    Floating toolbarsWriter includes several additional conte t5sensitive toolbars! whose

    defaults appear as floating toolbars in response to the cursorGs currentposition or selection. For e ample! when the cursor is in a table! afloating 0able toolbar appears. :ou can doc these toolbars to the top!bottom! or side of the window! if "ou wish (see ?9oving toolbars@ above+.0he default position is the bottom of the screen.

    *oc ingEfloating windows and toolbars0oolbars and some windows! such as the &avigator and the ;t"les and

    Formatting window! are doc able. :ou can move! resize! or doc them to anedge. 0o doc a window or toolbar! hold down Ctrl and double5clic on theframe of the floating window (or in a vacant area near the icons at the topof the floating window+ to doc it in its last position.

    Customizing toolbars:ou can customize toolbars in several wa"s! including choosing which

    icons are visible and loc ing the position of a doc ed toolbar. 0o accessa toolbarGs customization options! right5clic between the icons on the

    toolbar to open a conte t menu. 0o show or hide icons defined for theselected toolbar! choose 2isib&e B(ttons from the conte t menu. Disibleicons are indicated b" a border around the icon or b" a chec mar besidethe icon! depending on "our operating s"stem. Clic on icons to hide or showthem on the toolbar.
