Lesson 1
INTRODUCTION TO THE BIBLE — FALL OF MAN
Key Verse
“All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
The Bible is God’s special message of love to all mankind. The world was created for man, and man was created for God’s glory and pleasure. Although man’s perfect relationship with God was broken, God promised to provide
a way to restore that relationship in spite of sin’s consequences.
The Bible contains 66 different books, but it is ONE BOOK, with ONE TRUE STORY of whatGod has been doing throughout history to bring His people to Himself.
God created the heavens and the earth in six days. On the seventh day God rested. God spoke everything into existence but on day six, God created mankind by forming man
out of the dust of the ground and breathing life into his nostrils. Mankind was created in God’s image for a special purpose, to have a personal relationship
with God. Satan entered the Garden as a serpent with two strategies to deceive Adam and Eve. To
cause them to:1) Doubt God’s Word 2) Doubt God’s Character
Mankind’s relationship with God was broken when SIN entered the world. The punishment:death and separation from God.
But God gave mankind a Promise of Reconciliation – that one day at the right time He wouldprovide a way for the relationship to be restored.
But SIN continued to spread.Produced by STB—8 to 3 for School Time Bible Ministries
