20 yEArS AFTEr THE oLyMPICS20 years ago the resort hosted the Nordic events of the Albertville Winter Olympic Games. Celebrate this extraordinary birthday with an evening full of surprises!

29TH EDITIoN oF THE AErIAL GAMESHoT AIr bALLooN rALLySaturday and Sunday: balloon take-off at 9 am and 2 pm for Les Carrets. On site: free initiation flight in tethered balloon & entertainment for kids. Throughout the weekend come and enjoy a number of flight demos, paragliding demonstrations and other flying objects. Party on Saturday evening.

18TH EDITIoN oF THE “EToILE DES SAISIES”A long distance cross-country ski race. This is the last event in the long-distance cross-country Grand Prix.

Competitors, both men and women, will race along the 42 kilometre and 21 kilometre circuit. Spectators can discover the fabulous Olympic Nordic ski area in les Saisies. Every year the marathon event races through the centre of the resort for the pleasure of the supporting crowds.

When out walking this winter, discover the different aspects of Les Saisies and the village of Hauteluce. 3 fun footpaths exist with satellite guidance if you wish.

On the programme: an investigation, a quiz or simply learn about local history and heritage.

The younger age group can follow the tracks of Gargantua, a giant that once discovered the beauty of the Alps. Possibility to visit the enchanted forest and solve the mysteries of Tauron the local elf.

Situated in a protected natural environment, the Nordic ski area was host to the cross-country and biathlon events during the 1992 Winter Olympic Games.

Amidst forests and clearings, the 120 kMS oF NorDIC TrAILS are accessible to both novice and experienced skiers.

Protection of black grouse. A number of breeding

grounds can be found across the ski area and are closed

to skiers and pedestrians via netting and significant signs.

Certain dangerous ski lift cables carry beacons to

prevent the collision of birds.

Nature awareness campaigns: the peat bogs in the Nordic

area are certified Natura 2000.

The ski lift company in les Saisies uses a specific type of

electricity, more respectful of the environment and in

support of sustainable energy development.

All slope grooming machines are equipped with satellite

guidance systems to optimise time and fuel.

A CO2 control was recently carried out to measure the

direct and indirect impact the running of a ski resort

has on nature.

A spring clean-up campaign helps to keep the mountain clean.

ONE WON’T STOP NOW! We wish to continue further

with environmental issues. The ski lift company is

engaged in an eco-friendly approach giving systematic

consideration to the environment in all its activities.
