Modify two axles and two half pins by cutting them with a

sharp knife so they’re each one stud long. In these photos,

I’ve modiied a #32062 axle (though any axle will do) and a

#4274 pin. note that the quantities given in the BOM for the

#32062 axle (×5) and the #4274 pin (×45) don’t include the

modiied pieces—you’ll need two more of each to make a

total of four modiied pieces.

If your rubber band is too long, loop it around the

farthest towball pin (u) or around both towball pins

(u and v) at the same time. you want enough ten-

sion in your rubber band to pull the Trigger back

through the safety catch mechanism (in the slide)

after the slide has moved forward again. after you’ve

inished the model, you may need to come back

to this step and do some experimenting to ind the

optimal amount of tension.

Make sure the rubber band its between the 12-stud

Technic brick and the 1/2-stud bushing as shown

at w—this will stop interference between this rubber

band and the one that powers the slide.
