• An   interacTve   kitchen   showcasing   various   spices/herbs   found  on  Lefferts  Farmland.  

• Child  liXs  the  top  of  a  jar  and  smells  ingredient    

• AnimaTon  is  triggered  and  projected  on  the  wall.   It  shows  the  journey  of  the  spice.

Children  would  learn  about  the  concept  of  Tme  and  understand  where  ingredients  came  from  -­‐  back  then  it  would  take  weeks  or  even  months  to  transport  spices,  whereas  now  we  can  just  walk  down  the  street  to  the  nearest  grocery  store  and  pick  up  a  can  of  whatever  we  would  like.

When  the  child  liXs  the  lid  of  a  jar  RFID  tags  on  the  inside  of  the  top  lid  will  acTvate  a  projecTon  behind   the   table.  The  glass   jars  are  essenTally  a  media  player  connected  via  USB.

PRECEDENT  USING  RFID  TAGS    

The  Bowl  is  a  simple  media  player  that  can  be  used  by  people  of  all  ages,  parTcularly  young  children.  A  bowl  sits  on  the  living  room  table  and  range  of  physical  objects  can  be  placed  within  it.  When  an  object  is  placed  in  the  bowl  related  media  is  played  back  on  the  TV.
