Tom Atchison introduced our program speaker, Natalie Radzwilla, Mrs. Denton County 2017, who is running for Mrs. Texas. Tom Lainson is coordinating the Hot Springs Covette Weekend, April 20-23. 12-14 have signed up so far. Tom Lainson will also be forwarding long-range planning info
for the Sulphur Springs Corvette Classic Oct. 27-28. Jerry Echols reported that the club has reserved space in the Classic Car Corral at the Dallas New Car Show; move-in is Tues, March 21. Bill Preston provided information on a “Cars & Coffee” show the last Sat. of every month at Gateway Classic Cars in Dallas. He needs volunteers to assist in collecting donations for Patriot Paws at this event and Pate Swap Meet. Meeting adjourned at 1:10pm followed by the raffle.

Once again Corvette Legends of Texas had a great display at the DFW New Car Show at Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas. They moved in on Tuesday, March 21, and were on display until the following Sunday night. We sin-cerely appreciate the time and effort that it took for everyone involved to participate in this show. Chairman, Jerry Echols did an excellent job, as usual, recruiting members, making contact with the show promoters and getting the display set up and broken down. It takes a big commitment from everyone involved to do this event. Thanks for putting Legends out there for the public to see! On display for the first time this year were: Yavuz & Defne Colasan’s Red 1958, Gary & Cheryl Williams’ 1972 Green Convertible, John & Margaret Cantrell’s 1963 Black Coupe, Tom & Cathy Hubbert’s Red 1962,Ron & Pat Cople’s Red 1962, andJerry & Ellen Fernandes’ 2008 Red Convertible. Monday, March 20, Legends members decended on Tom Entrekin’s garage to attack the last remaining vestiges of red lacquer on Tom’s 1956 Corvette. Tom and others had already sripped lacquer paint off the main body of the car using razor blades. All that was left was areas like door jams, dash panel, and anything tight and curvy. The day was warm and windy which is a requirement to use chemical stripper. Warm to activate the stripper and windy to blow the terrible odor away. Everyone was suited up with multiple layers of rubber gloves and warned not to get the stripper on their skin. They started about noon, after Mary Jean supplied them with plenty of pizza for lunch. The crew consisted of: Bill Preston, Al Macdonald, Don Sebert, Bob Rockett, Steve Daniel, and eventually... Gary Williams and Dan Jacobs.
