Indoor and Outdoor lighting are susceptible to transient spikes by lightning surges can be caused by direct

lightning, indirect lightning or sudden switching OFF/ON of mains supply.Surge voltage transients can

destroy LED power supplies as well as the LED's themselves. Due to the sensitive nature of LED lights, we

need to provide over voltage, over current, surge protection for LED lighting systems.

The most effective and reliable type of surge protector which is MOV metal oxide varistor, which diverts the

extra voltage & energy away from the LED Driver (HpfDriver). Varistors primarily consist of zinc-oxide in

which the ZnO was altered with small amounts of other metal oxides such as bismuth, cobalt or

manganese,are sintered into a ceramic semiconductor. They are designed to be in the parallel mode as it will

have better energy handling ability. MOVs are designed to clamp fast over-voltage transients within

microsecondscan be used to suppress lightning and other high-energy transients found in AC power-line

applications equipped to withstand large amounts of energy and divert this potentially destructive energy

away from sensitive electronics located downstream.

It optimized surge immunity solution to protect the outdoor and indoor LED fixture investment to get the long

term reduction in maintenance costs and energy savings. Without surge protection, the value proposition of

LED lighting is at risk It protects from Thermal Runaway and fire hazards in luminaries also prevents from

environmental factor damage.
