"ice President of Operations Walter E. Locher recenth· announced that inview ~ of the success of the1961 Safety Award Program, Tapline will continuethe Program with minorchanges in 1962. The program is designed to maintain employees' interest inaccident prevention, to timulate their safety thinkingand practices, and to develop teamwork to attainthe common goal of continuous imprO\'ement in thlsafety experience.
The awards cover industry-wide recognition of outstanding accident pre\'ention efforts by the .\mericanPetroleum Institute and thXational Safety Council, anda company-wide recognitionof safety improvement b;Management.
Individual prizes are authorized for the outstandingperformances and the prizesshall be presented to eachemployee of the winninggroup, along with the grouprecognitions, in appropriateceremomes.
For the purpose of recording the safety e:o.periencesand for keeping the detailsof the Safety Allard Program, the ;\'hole Taplineorganization has been divided into the follo\vingtwelve areas: Beirut-Dama'cus-Amman, Sidon ShoreOperations-Dera'a, Sidon:\Iarine Operations, Qaryatain, Turaif Central Facilities, Turaif Station, Badanah, Rafha, Qaisumah, Saudi Arabia Organization, Sidon Terminal Organizationand All Tapline.

The President's Cup,symbolic of the Taplinemen's team golf championship, wa II on by Taplinegolfers from Beirut and Sidon who conquered theirArabian counterparts in theSpring Championship Tournament held on the ZahraniCountry Club course, lay25 and 26, by 33 'assaumatch points to 27.
For the first time in theseven years of cup play, arecord number of six national employees played inthe tournament. They were:Dr. A. Ghanma, A. Siblani,Dr. M. Prince, 1\1. Moussa,Dr. M. Baroody and O.Mutlaq al-Sahman.

Thefloat was built in a week'stime at Sidon's CarpentryShop by Tapliners KhalilAbu-Zeid, Osman Sinno,Kheiri Loubieh and Saidl\lakhoul, \\'orking under thesupervision ofl\lr. Bezdikian.
Tapline's float, the brainchild of artist Yartan Bezdikian, of Beirut Engineering,obtained the third prize atthe Spring Festi\'ities Paradeheld June 3 at Sidon's ::\lunicipal Stadium, packed withmore than 30,000 spectators.The prize, a silver trophy,was presented to OperationsForeman Annibal Faddoulby the l\lohafez of SouthLebanon, Mr. Ghaleb elTurk,
