The pro- gram is designed to main- tain employees' interest in accident prevention, to ti- mulate their safety thinking and practices, and to de- velop teamwork to attain the common goal of conti- nuous imprO\'ement in thl safety experience. The awards cover indus- try-wide recognition of out- standing accident pre\'en- tion efforts by the .\merican Petroleum Institute and th Xational Safety Council, and a company-wide recognition of safety improvement b;- Management. Individual prizes are au- thorized for the outstanding performances and the prizes shall be presented to each employee of the winning group, along with the group recognitions, in appropriate ceremomes. For the purpose of record- ing the safety e:o.periences and for keeping the details of the Safety Allard Pro- gram, the ;\'hole Tapline organization has been div- ided into the follo\ving twelve areas: Beirut-Dama'- cus-Amman, Sidon Shore Operations-Dera'a, Sidon :\Iarine Operations, Qarya- tain, Turaif Central Facili- ties, Turaif Station, Bada- nah, Rafha, Qaisumah, Sau- di Arabia Organization, Si- don Terminal Organization and All Tapline. Tapline's float, the brain­child of artist Yartan Bezdi­kian, of Beirut Engineering,obtained the third prize atthe Spring Festi\'ities Paradeheld June 3 at Sidon's ::\lu­nicipal Stadium, packed withmore than 30,000 spectators.The prize, a silver trophy,was presented to OperationsForeman Annibal Faddoulby the l\lohafez of SouthLebanon, Mr. Ghaleb el­Turk,
