GIFTS IN WILLSLeave a Lasting Legacy

YOUR LEGACY

Leave a lasting gift and make a significant difference in the lives of those affected by illness and injury. Through your Will you can help

the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation continue your legacy far beyond your lifetime through the funding of life-saving equipment, patient

care programs, staff development, research and scholarships.

By choosing to include our Foundation in your Will, you’ll become a vital part of the lifesaving work and compassionate care of the Toowoomba Hospital, Baillie Henderson Hospital and Mt Lofty Heights Nursing Home.

You can make the life of a staff member a little easier, the day for a patient a little brighter and bring peace of mind to the loved ones of patients.

Your support, great or small, goes directly towards improving the quality of care, investing in the newest of equipment and advancement in treatments for the countless patients and families touched by our hospitals.

By naming the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation as a beneficiary in your Will, you can ensure that many generations to come are given the gift of the best possible chance for a healthier and happier life.

ENERGY

Lachlan Miles has never let his condition get in the way of living his life to the fullest. With thanks to an incredible gift from our community we

can make sure he’s able to continue making the most of life closer to home.

Lachlan is no stranger to our Emergency Department and Ambulance crews. He suffers from a severe form of epilepsy meaning he can have several seizures a day and many trips to the Toowoomba Hospital every week.

Despite his ‘frequent flyer’ status, Lachlan has always kept a smile on his face and a wicked sense of humour. It was his bravery and spirited personality that inspired local mum Tess Bourke to do what she could to help the Miles family.

After hearing about the need for a special transmit-receive coil for the Hospital’s MRI machine, Tess sprang into action.

Thanks to her incredible donation, and that of WPM Sheet Metal Works Toowoomba, Lachlan and patients just like him with stimulators can now have their medical imaging done right here in Toowoomba.

“It means I don’t have to go to Brisbane on those long drives,” says Lachlan.

“It’s a lot more comfortable now as I know a lot of the hospital staff in Toowoomba, a lot more than Brisbane. It’s my hometown.”

Your legacy means we can lead the way in bringing vital life-saving equipment to the patients of our hospitals.

COLLABORATION

At the very core of our philosophy is a simple yet powerful motto, “we’ll get by with a little help from our mates”. Through your legacy we

can continue to make bigger and better impacts together.

The generosity of our mates helps give the gift of new and expanded services throughout our hospitals, like that of the Toowoomba Hospital Cardiac Investigations Unit.

With help from the Foundation, the Unit has been able to bring life-saving cardiac investigation technology previously not available in Toowoomba, to our patients. Their latest addition, a portable cardiovascular ultrasound machine, is bringing them one step closer to taking their services on the road.

Director of Cardiac Investigations Unit Feena Enfantie said the support of the Foundation and its mates means being able to keep vital services local, and treat more patients.

“Being able to provide our specialist cardiac services right across the Darling Downs is our ultimate goal and we wouldn’t have been able to realise this vision without the generous people who donated to our unit.”

With the generosity of our community we will continue to find new ways and opportunities to make a difference in the lives of the people touched by our hospitals, today, tomorrow, next year and for many more years to come.

EMPATHY

There’s no better legacy to leave than one of support, care and compassion. Your gift can make a world of difference to those who

need it the most, ensuring your memory lives on with future generations.

With your support we can help bring a smile to patients’ faces, comfort to a loved one, a welcome distraction to sick kids and support to people affected by illness and injury in our hospitals.

Whether it’s giving back to the medical staff who cared for you or a loved one, or paying it forward so that others may also benefit from the care you received, there are many incredible ways your legacy will transform people’s lives.

We are committed to caring for our community through all stages of their lives and ensuring that their quality of life is well looked after.

Thanks to the generosity of our community we’ve helped to enhance a range of family and patient care programs across our hospitals, from children’s health to aged care, through to mental health and cancer care.

We strongly believe in the compassion and care of people like you, in the power that showing and passing on these values can have on those around us. Your legacy gift can pass on the idea of caring for others and ensure the values you hold dear will live on.

WHY IT MATTERS

From funding state-of-the-art equipment, investing in staff training or improving the quality of care and service through patient programs, your gift matters. It matters because it’s saving lives, whether it’s your

Gifts in Wills ultimately ensures that the Foundation will be here for the long-term, supporting people through the hardest, happiest and saddest times of their lives.

Your impact of giving can make a difference to a cancer patient, a sick child or someone with a life-altering injury and will inspire the future successes of our hospitals and staff.

Not only is your legacy a vital source of funding but we can guarantee that 100% of your gift will go to where you nominate it to go, helping those who need it the most.

Your legacy is a gift that means the Foundation can keep training medical staff, funding better equipment and bringing vital and quality health care to our growing and diverse region for many years to come.
