Why a learning contract?

Setting objectives is the process of establishing a direction to guide learning. When you can set objectives for learning, you can see more easily the connections between what you are doing in the project and what you are supposed to learn

Examples are provided below to help you in developing a thoughtful, obtainable, and strategic Learning Contract.

Competences addressed by INVEP 2.0 Taking Off Seminar

Now, welcome to your own learning contract in which you are the owner of the knowledge, skills, abilities you would like to learn during the whole INVEP 2.0 Taking Off seminar project. Just get relaxed and think a little bit. Remember: there is no correct or wrong answer, everything counts. This is not an exam, nor a test for you to get a qualification. The only qualification you will get will be what you really want to discover, develop, obtain, go through this learning journey. Fasten seat belt and let’s start!

The following are the competences (knowledge, skills, attitudes/behaviors) have to be acquired or improved by the participants of the INVEP 2.0 project

1. Mother tongue communication: Through exploration of their own language and analysis of elements of everyday communication in their language as an element of identity construction, which will be able to outline practical elements in their own language that allows them to practice what they have learnt, and especially in the acquisition of social and communication skills through the exploration and use based on non-verbal communication (body language, drawings, sounds, gestures, etc.) tools

2. Communication in foreign languages: English is the official language of the project. From the preparation phase to the final evaluation, the use of English is recommended as a common tool to be used for the development of activities. In addition, all training materials and advertising must be in neutral language, as the language used in the course.

3. Mathematical competence and basic competences in science and technology: The project involves raising awareness on issues related to the nature, origin, purpose and alternatives trends to gender perspectives and volunteering, to identify these trends at home, at work, interpreting experiences society, reconcile different points of view; correct sexist patterns of thought, word and deed and integrate the fair values of equality action plans within the personal responsibility of each citizen, and not only act multiplying these values when working with young people. Therefore, the experience and knowledge gained will enable the participants to apply mathematical reasoning to solve various problems of everyday life, emphasizing reasoning, activity and knowledge.

4. Digital competence: Through the preparation of submissions in the country with new technology tools, such as Powerpoint and Prezzi, preparing material for later in their home communities, digital courses, the use of communication different ICT applications, and other social applications to be used as tools for work and multiplying effects, and bring ideas, proposals and experiences, will provide the participants the added ability in digital skills.

5. Learning to learn, throughout the entire project, from the preparation phase to evaluation, participants will develop a learning process that will begin within themselves, encouraging self-evaluation and self-reflection, ideas, attitudes and information as well as its role as a trainer and / or facilitator responsible for training of specialized volunteer projects for children and youth. Therefore, the project will provide skills and techniques that are internalized and subsequently tested. Share with other people from different cultural backgrounds will add value to the reflection and learning, not only in this particular space and time, but in any other involving beyond this project. The implementation of training courses in their places of origin allows the translation of what is learned in youth work practice and a solid assessment of the learning process.

6. Social and civic competence: learning through conflict resolution, learning to work together and take responsibility within teams to strengthen their own knowledge, skills, attitudes and motivation at work by participation in social life community and recognize their strengths and weaknesses as hardworking and efficient social and youth workers.

7. Sense of initiative and entrepreneurship through the development of activities: gathering information about volunteering legislation of the country of origin; to determine the role of non-formal education in the educational system of their society, the country presentation, activities during the course (the preparation of the final party, the daily evaluation, etc ...), the subsequent implementation of training courses to volunteer in their places of origin, further coordination of voluntary activity in their hometowns. In all these areas, the sense of initiative and entrepreneurship is present; participants will be people who will develop their work schedules, contents and methodologies.

8. Awareness and expression of their own culture by presenting his country and his community with other people of different cultural backgrounds; to share their own experiences and their environment; their society to reflect on the values of the prevailing social models and the analysis of their daily life as well as knowledge of specific legal frameworks (voluntary activities and the national education system).

According to the competences set before, you should think of and write two specific objectives regarding each competence (your learning objectives), the activities by which you are to reach your goals (learning activities) and how will you know that your goals and objectives have been obtained.
