• LEAD is an innovative leadership programme designed specifically around the needs of SME owners – managers with up to 22 employees

• LEAD has been piloted by Lancaster University Management School in conjunction with the NWDA

• Since 2004 over 150 businesses have been through the 10 month leadership programme with great success

• NWDA is supporting the rollout of LEAD across the region in a £9.5m investment programme

Who is LEAD aimed at?SME owner-managers with up to 22 employees in the Northwest who:

• want to gain confidence in and improve their leadership skills• are looking to grow their business but aren’t sure of the direction

ways of streamlining the business• feel isolated and don’t have a peer support network to turn to for

advice• Are willing to commit 2-3 days per month to the Programme over

• LEAD is a 10 month intensive development programme and requires significant commitment of 2-3 days per month from participants.

• It is essential that delegates commit to all elements of the programme in order to achieve maximum benefit.

• Maximum cost to the business is £2,000.

• Train2Gain L&M funding can be used to pay up to £1,000 per LEAD participant where eligibility criteria are met.
