At All Things Pool Services we use LeakTronics equipment and it is our goal is to use The most advanced science and practice of electronic leak detection technology and equipment, meeting the growing and changing needs of the 21st Century. LeakTronics professional leak detection equipment surpasses the older and dated technology which the pool and spa industry has been relying on, for the last 25 years. LeakTronics has embarked on a technologically, innovative path, within our specific niche of the leak detection industry.

Winner of the Top 50 Products Award in the Pool & Spa News

The right technology to help detect leaks in swimming pool, spas and fountains

Helping you set the new professional standard.

What’s involved in electronic water leak detection?

If you suspect you a water leak are present, we recommend you call us right

away as unattended leaks can damage your property and other people’s

property.

We will carry out water leak detection for you and we will utilise the latest water

leak detection equipment to track and find your leak. This technology can

accurately pinpoint all types of water leaks, even those that are underneath

concrete or pavers, or in your wall pipes. Once the leak has been found, we can

access the problem and arrange to carry on repairing the leak, or replace the

pipework or equipment if required.

How does a CCTV camera inspection work?

CCTV camera inspection allows us to inspect your pipework visually in order to locate

blockages and breakages.

All Things Pool Services has invested in some of the world’s most sophisticated gear,

for the best possible results (fast accurate problem solving). Our CCTV drain and

sewer pipe surveys comply fully with pipeline surveying accreditation guidelines, and

provide you with a detailed report that our Serviceman can then use to make an

informed decision. Saving you money!

We can also offer you a DVD of the inspection, which can be sent to you on completion.

Do I need a CCTV camera inspection?

The wide-angle camera view and full colour video/photo capability of our CCTV camera

equipment provides us with a level of reporting that was unheard of only a few years

ago. This is a more accurate assessment of the condition of your Pipework and

Equipment, which can mean less digging, less replacement pipe required and a more

cost-effective repair.

If you’re a company, you may require periodic CCTV camera drainage inspections to

comply with company guidelines and/or NSW environmental laws.

Camera systems used CCTV / IR

Our CCTV / IR camera (Inferred) use two types of camera depending on Leak problem

or the drain being inspected: a micro camera system for surveys in drains 100mm or

smaller, which can travel up to 50m.

Infrared Detection of Water Damage

The problem faced by most property owners is that moisture behind walls, over ceilings,

and under floors is often impossible to detect until the problem is excessive and visible

Page 4: Leak Detection Pressure / Sonic Test and UV / IR Camera Detection · 2017-05-21 · Leak Detection Pressure / Sonic Test and UV / IR Camera Detection $200 inclusive of GST* *Includes

to the naked eye. Since the investigation and removal of infestations of not yet visible,

mold in structures is often difficult, technology is now being used to do what once was

impossible.

But finding a problem with an infrared camera is not a solution. It is the start of an

investigation that will help the property owner stop a problem before it becomes serious.

When suspect areas are found they can be visually documented using the IR camera.

Images, like those obtained from an IR Camera, are easier for a layperson or

nontechnical person to understand. Findings from the IR camera can be explained to

the property owner or the insurer's personnel combined with the verification obtained by

using data-logging moisture detection equipment with time stamp and/or destructive

testing.

Can I treat my pool myself? Yes, you can treat your pool, but there are a few things to consider first. Don't drain your pool if it is fiberglass as it will likely "pop" out of the ground (Phone us for more info) Consider what has flowed into your pool, there could possibly be more than just mud in your pool, so treat with chemicals first or call us to discuss Draining your concrete pool could damage the structure. if you are in a low lying area (it could pop" out of the ground ) again feel free to consult with us first. What do I treat my Pool with?

- Start by adjusting your PH to a level between 7-7.5 - Add Chlorine to ensure good sanitation, a minimum of 20ppm is recommended - Add an algaecide to kill all plant (algae) and animal life (Pools along the river

have been found to have fish in them) - Allow 24 Hours for the above to work - Adjust PH for floccing agent and add Floc - Allow 24-48 Hours for floccing to work through - Once floccing agent has worked assess materials in the bottom of pool - If mud only, vacuum to waste, if other waste is present please phone us - Top up pool and re adjust pool chemical levels - Enjoy and swim in the pool

We have spent a lot of time over the last few years helping and advising people about how to care for the pool when the pool is flooded by mud and debris. The advice we have given out over the phone is FREE. It is our mission to help pool owners by giving them the correct advice, it only takes a phone call to ask, please don't hesitate to call us, as we are only too happy to help.

Kreepy Krauly Maintenance Kreepy Krauly or automatic pool cleaner as they are sometimes called need servicing and maintenance just like everything else. On average a Kreepy Krauly will travel about 100km a month in an average size swimming pool. That's a lot of grinding on the floor of the pool and it does take its toll on your Kreepy.

Most commonly your Kreepy will start to not perform in it's movement through the pool. For example you may find it starts to stick in a particular corner or begins to go round in circles for no reason at all. Sometimes it can be caused by someone (Usually the Kids) altering the parts on the hose or machine itself. But in this tip we are talking about general maintenance of your Kreepy to ensure that is does its best job of keeping your pool clean, so be on the lookout for the following things. Most commonly to wear out first on your Kreepy is the Wearing Sole, this is part No 6 and its right at the bottom of the Diagram. A Wearing Sole will usually need replacing every 12 -18 months. The actual wear on the sole occurs because the sole is

Page 11: Leak Detection Pressure / Sonic Test and UV / IR Camera Detection · 2017-05-21 · Leak Detection Pressure / Sonic Test and UV / IR Camera Detection $200 inclusive of GST* *Includes

actually scrubbing and polishing the surface of the pool and this is particularly effective in a pebble or marble surfaced pool. Kreepy Krauly Parts Breakdown Another part that commonly wears is part No 11. Known as the Back Strap or Bumper Strap. These straps are designed to deflect the Kreepy Krauly out of corners and off the stairs within the pool. There are varying types of deflectors to suit many different types of pools, so if your Kreepy is getting stuck somewhere it may be the deflector not performing correctly. The Skirt or Disc seen as Part No. 5 in this diagram is also an item that wears and affects the performance of the machine. Generally the skirt will become thin to touch and very soft and holes may begin to appear through the skirt. Once this occurs it is time to purchase a new one, the life expectancy of a skirt is 3 to 5 years depending on the surface of your pool. All Things Pools Services, carries all spare parts for all models of Kreepy Krauly Pool Cleaners, our technicians are certified to repair and install Kreepy Kraulys. If something is not working correctly with your Kreepy why not give us a call today on PHONE 0407962601 and let’s get your Kreepy Krauly back to doing what it does best. Keeping your pool clean so you don't have to!

Why use Kreepy Krauly Genuine Hose There are many types of automatic pool cleaner on the market, pool cleaners that use a hose attached to the skimmer box on the side of the pool are generally known as suction cleaners.

The most famous of these suction cleaners of course is the house hold name Kreepy Krauly. A Kreepy will typically come with a 9-14m hose and its best to get a hose 1 meter longer then the length of the pool to start with, this will allow the machine to have an amount of “slack” so that it may move freely about the pool. It also gives you the opportunity to trim the hose later for finer tuning. Kreepy Krauly hose is a super flexible vacuum hose that can be used on not only Kreepy Kraulys, but on most other pool cleaners are well. The hose is actually 2 hoses in one and designed to flex far more than your standard vacuum hose. The reason that the hose requires more flex is because most pool cleaners are very light and if the hose is to rigid, it will not allow the Kreepy to drag the hose through the pool While a complete Kreepy Krauly will cost between $700 -$900 depending on the model

Page 12: Leak Detection Pressure / Sonic Test and UV / IR Camera Detection · 2017-05-21 · Leak Detection Pressure / Sonic Test and UV / IR Camera Detection $200 inclusive of GST* *Includes

chosen, the spare parts are usually cheaper than some other main stream cleaners. Life expectancy for a Genuine hose is about 5-8 years, your hose will last longer if you get your water balance tested regularly.

I'm renting/buying a house but there is no pool fence?

Legislations in WA had a few changes in the past, but you are likely to deal with a

house that was built and approved before 5 November 2001.

Full information on the legislation can be found here, and more at the Building

Commission Website!

Please contact your real estate agent or landlord for clarification or contact

your Department of Local Government!

Why is my pool gone green?

There can be a few causes- but the most common one is a lack of chlorination,

caused by either a turned off system, not sufficient running time, a lack of salt, or

chlorine if liquid fed, mal function of the chlorinator, or dosing system if chlorine.

Other causes are high levels of phosphates, which cause the chlorine to be burnt off

too quickly or lack of stabilizer in the pool. Some algae can be still found in crevices of

steps or anchor points like pool lights etc. after a non professional green pool

treatment. Green pools can be restored easily, but it is advised you seek professional

help and assistance.

Can I leave my pool cover/blanket on in the winter?

A great way to protect your pool and water from the environment- in summer it gives

protection from the sun, avoiding chlorine to burn off, keeping dust and debris out

while at the same time heating your pool water.

In the winter you have the same benefits but, like in summer time, you must attend to

the pool frequently.

While your pool is covered, it also will not let escape of any chemical fumes and can

cause damage to the cover, your pool surface, auto cleaner or anything else

submersed at the same time. Always remove the cover completely.

Also, you want to check that your pool is still

looking good under the blanket and not gone green. Test water fortnightly!

Contact us if you like to have a pool cover; we have

the best prices in town!

Saltwater or Liquid Chlorine?

Is the grass greener on the other side? Quite frankly it comes down to personal

choice when you have a domestic pool.

Saltwater chlorination; is more cost effective and I personally like the feel of the softer

saltwater.

Liquid chlorine; is more precise when it comes to dosing and maintaining chlorine

levels but it can cost you a bit in chlorine and you have to carry the drums from the

shop- unless you have a pool service.

If you have one of the systems and think of changing

then please contact us, we come out and quote for free.

What are the savings with an energy saving pool pump, is it easy to switch?

If you are thinking of changing your old pump over to a new energy saving pump then

don’t think again, do it!

On a usual domestic use you can save as much electricity as the cost of the pump in

12 to 18 month. That means over the lifetime of the pump you don't even bother

anymore to repairs as these days pumps come with a 3-5 year warranty.

Page 18: Leak Detection Pressure / Sonic Test and UV / IR Camera Detection · 2017-05-21 · Leak Detection Pressure / Sonic Test and UV / IR Camera Detection $200 inclusive of GST* *Includes

Installing a new energy saving pump is usually as

easy as taking the old one out and replacing it with the new model.

Plumbing is only needed if the old pump is not

compatible but usually would only take minor adjustments.

The Dos and Don’ts of Pool Maintenance on the Central Coast for Healthy Swimming

Clean, clear, and odour-free water is a hallmark of a well-maintained pool. You would

naturally be inclined to remove leaves, twigs, bugs, and other sizable bits of debris that

you find floating on the pool before you take a dip or let others dive in. You would also

replace the water if it looks dirty, cloudy, and filled with green algal blooms or if it has an

offensive smell, especially if you haven’t used the pool in the past few seasons.

Page 19: Leak Detection Pressure / Sonic Test and UV / IR Camera Detection · 2017-05-21 · Leak Detection Pressure / Sonic Test and UV / IR Camera Detection $200 inclusive of GST* *Includes
Page 20: Leak Detection Pressure / Sonic Test and UV / IR Camera Detection · 2017-05-21 · Leak Detection Pressure / Sonic Test and UV / IR Camera Detection $200 inclusive of GST* *Includes

You would also want to fix any concerning defect. If you find cracks or broken tiles in

and around the pool, you would have it repaired or even ingeniously patched up as a

temporary solution. That way, nobody would trip on the hazards or get other injuries.

Of course, you can’t stop at what you can see when you want to ensure the safety or

cleanliness of your pool. You have to be cautious about the actual water quality and

keep it optimal, so you or any of the pool users won’t get sick from soaking in the water.

Here are the essential dos and don’ts for healthy swimming:

DO: Disinfect the water.

You need to use chlorine in liquid or powder forms (Don’t use Powder chlorine if you

have a Salt chlorinator), or salt water chlorinators to destroy most of the

microorganisms that the pool can harbor.

DON’T: Skimp on filters.

Even if you use disinfectant chemicals, you’ll still need filters and pool cleaners to avoid

debris build-ups.

DO: Test the water regularly.

The pool water must be tested for its temperature to see if it’s not too hot on particularly

scorching days and for its chemical properties (including its chlorine levels, pH, and

cleanliness) to see if you need to correct them (by adding more chlorine or running the

filters).

DON’T: Forget to check all the pool equipment before use.

Make sure all the pumps, filters, motors, and other pool equipment or parts are in good

condition and have them serviced according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

DO: Ensure that your fences are sound.

Aside from improving your privacy, the fences or gates around your pool help keep little

kids safe and prevent other children or pets from entering your backyard.

DON’T: Leave the maintenance job to amateurs.

All the necessary pool repairs and Maintenance should be entrusted to professional

companies, such as All Things Pool Services, so that the tasks can be performed

properly and efficiently.

Pool Owners Should Trust Experienced Pool Maintenance Services

The famous I will do it tomorrow and next thing you know you are doing twice the

work and twice the chemicals to get it right again

Very important: Empting the skimmer Basket, Backwash/ wash filter, Clean Salt

Chlorinator and Keep water levels correct

Maintaining your pool is a lot more difficult than you think. It’s not that any of the

things you need to do are technically difficult; your pool maintenance duties mostly

include tasks that ensure your pool is clean like using a skimmer net to ensure that no

surface dirt settles in your pool and scrubbing the tiles to ensure that neither algae nor

calcium builds up. The problem is the sheer amount of chores you have to do to

ensure your pool is in tip-top shape. If you’re a busy person, an experienced

serviceman like All Things Pool Services can help ease with the burden of handling of

these duties.

Convenience may be your initial reason for hiring a pool maintenance service, but you

can enjoy other benefits, too. First, you can be assured of your safety, both in and out

of the pool. Keeping your pool clean involves a lot of manual labour and utilizing pool

cleaning equipment; the chances of an accident happening can be low, but it’s still

there. Hire an experienced pool cleaner who knows how to be careful so as to avoid

risks. Additionally, keeping your pool clean and sparkling involves the use of chlorine

and other potentially dangerous chemicals to balance the pH levels and purity of the

Page 22: Leak Detection Pressure / Sonic Test and UV / IR Camera Detection · 2017-05-21 · Leak Detection Pressure / Sonic Test and UV / IR Camera Detection $200 inclusive of GST* *Includes

water. A layperson can easily make the mistake of unbalancing the solution,

endangering anyone swimming in the pool, wherein high acidity or alkalinity over

Chlorinated can cause medical conditions like rashes, ear infections, sore eyes or

worse (eyes absorb chemicals and disease).

Second, you can trust a professional pool service provider to have the knowledge to

deal with your pool problems. Cleaning up the water and keeping the pool clean may

be easy, but most people don’t know what to do if their pool pumps break down or

when their water filters get clogged. You can also trust pool maintenance services

especially if , issues with the water like pink slime, which comes up when the pool has

poor circulation or improper water balance, are best handled by a professional.

Finally, investing in pool maintenance services can end up saving you money in the

long run. Hiring professionals to check on your pool regularly ensures that any

emerging problems can be caught before they become bigger. For example, knowing

that your filters need replacing lets you do the replacement promptly, avoiding the

health and mechanical troubles brought on by clogged filters in your pool.

Proper Pool Maintenance Ensures Children’s Safety While Swimming

Children enjoy swimming in the backyard pool, but tend to be ignorant of the dangers.

As a parent, it’s part of your responsibility to keep them safe. The need for

proper Pool Maintenance is given high importance in an article from Australia’s

Raising Children Network. Here are some of the dangers it describes:

Chemicals are used to treat and control germ levels in pools so the germs don’t

make you sick. But sometimes, particularly if the pool is very busy or poorly

treated, the chemicals can’t act quickly enough and the germs can multiply.

Bacteria and viruses in pool water can cause illnesses including ear infections,

eye infections and throat and chest infections, as well as gastroenteritis or

diarrhoea (runny poo). The virus that causes hepatitis A can also be in pool

water. Very rarely, the amoebae that cause amoebic meningitis might be in

warm and hot water pools (where they thrive).

Bacteria and germs are the main things that children have to worry about when they

go into the water. This can easily be avoided by having experienced Pool Servicemen

regularly drop by your pool and clean it.

Professional Pool Maintenance

Pool cleaners usually need to check the pH and chemical levels of a pool on a regular

basis. High chemical levels may kill bacteria, but can endanger swimmers. They

usually add the appropriate chemicals like chlorine if the pool’s levels are too low.

Chlorine levels are especially important because high chlorine causes health

problems for swimmers, while low chlorine can result in algae growth.

Depending on the season, there are also several things that pool cleaners can do.

During summer, they have to check the pH and chemical levels more regularly, two

weeks at best. During autumn, with its many falling leaves, cleaning should be done

more often, along with preparation for winter. During this season, maintenance is

usually limited to just occasional checks since it can be too cold to swim. Spring will

require a full cleaning in preparation of the year ahead.

What You Can Do

Pool owners can also do some things to maintain the healthiness of their pool. First,

don’t enter the pool while sick. Second, shower before entering the pool; this should

help stop the bacteria from spreading. Third, properly wash children before they enter

the pool so as to avoid infection.
