Congratulations Biz Kidz Winners

Delaney Lortz is a 5th Grader at Forest Ridge Elementary School. She is the CEO of Barky Bones, a Howard County business that specializes in homemade dog bones and bites. Delaney has worked hard this year to increase her business almost tenfold from 2015 and hope to continue growth into the coming year. She just launched her holiday line which includes small stockings stuffed with 5 large Bones and small and large tins filled with Bites. Right now, she is working hard to keep up with the orders for her monthly subscription service and hopes to make that the greatest portion of her profit. She may eventually add more products such as pill pockets or chicken-flavored treats, but right now she is plenty busy trying to keep up with current orders. She plans to keep the business growing in order to fund her greatest desire to become a marine biologist. She is currently saving to attend a marine biology camp on Catalina Island in California where she will research marine life and participate in on-the-water recreational activities.

Madison Mack CEO, Sweet Maddie Cakes

Age 11

My name is Madison Mack and the name of my business is Sweet Maddie Cakes. I am extremely excited. My business began when I started to continuously bake treats like cookies and cupcakes at home. My aunt said that I was really starting to become an expert at baking, so I decided to make my own business. Some of my short term goals are to replace some of my Christmas gifts for more cupcake supplies and to attend a culinary school for baking. My long term goal is to make it big, like being featured on the news, in newspapers, and on talk shows. I want people to know my name!

My vision is to have children do what I'm doing and make their own business, and to make sure they know that they can do whatever they set their minds to.

Sincerely,

Madison Mack (CEO of Sweet Maddie Cakes

My name is Calyanna and I make my CalyAde lemonade with all natural ingredients from scratch. My specialty is Strawberry Lemonade. It's a little sweet and a little tart, but it goes down smooth. ________________

Kid Time Enterprises was founded by a mother and her

4-year-old son who both love learning in

fun ways.

The company integrates the belief that youth

should be taught to be producers, not just

consumers, as soon as they are able to

understand basic financial principals.

They strive to

encourage entrepreneurship

through launching a variety of projects

that lead to the development of

high-quality books, kid-friendly swag and meaningful

partnerships.

They also encourage other parents, mentors and relatives of youth up to the age of 18 to take time to listen to

their unique ideas that may be implemented.
