QUANTUM SOLUTIONS is an expert in synthesis of PbS Quantum Dots. We produce
high quality quantum dots with precise control of emission and absorption peaks, narrow
fluorescence bands and high quantum yields.
For specific application convenience, two lines of QDs are available:
- With specific emission peaks in the range of 900 – 1600 nm
- With specific first excitonic absorption peaks in the wide range of 800 – 2000 nm
All QDs have narrow FWHM of absorption and emission (even less than 100-120 nm),
have a good crystallinity with high peak-to-valley ratios.
Application fields
PbS Quantum Dots (Lead Sulfide) absorb the light through all visible and near-infrared
(NIR) range and re-emit in NIR range from 800 to 2000 nm depending on nanoparticle sizes from
2.5 to 9 nm respectively. PbS quantum dots are suitable for the use as light absorber or NIR emitter
in such applications as solar cells, photodetectors and infrared LEDs.
Features
PbS QDs with different absorption profiles (that is characterized with the first excitonic
peak absorption from 800 to 2000 nm) and emission peaks (from 900 to 1600 nm)
Narrow absorption and emission fluorescence bands (FWHM) due to narrow particle size
distributions that results in higher devices performance (in solar cells, sensors, LEDs).
High crystallinity with high peak-to-valley ratios

Customized products
PbS Quantum Dots with different solvents, concentrations, emission and absorption peaks are
available upon request.
Notes for handling
Shelf Life 12 months. Shipping temperature 4-25 °C. Store temperature 4-25 °C. Store in DARK,
in original packaging or in airtight sealed packaging inside glovebox (under inert atmosphere).
Repackage or dissolve in a glovebox only. Use anhydrous solvents only. Avoid a contact with air.
PbS QDs solids are easily soluble in octane or any other non-polar solvents (hexane, toluene,
chloroform, chlorobenzene, dichlorobenzene) in a wide range of concentrations up to 100-150
mg/mL. After QDs mixing with the solvents, please leave it overnight before processing. Dissolve
in a glove box only. Use anhydrous solvents only. Avoid sonication. Filter the solution by PTFE
filters before processing.
If you use PbS QDs for thin film devices (photodetectors, solar cell, LEDs) and perform solution
ligand exchange, use QDs as it is for ligand exchange. If you provide solid ligand exchange, we
recommend to wash PbS QDs by methanol (or ethanol, or isopropanol) 1-2 times before processing.
Instruction for washing will be provided with the order upon request.
