Explaining the conditional and its uses

To say you “would “ do something you use the conditional

Ex: I would like to drink some waterI would buy a houseYou would work harder

In French the conditional is formed just like the future tense but the endings are different:

ER VERBS

Ex: aimer: take the verb in the infinitive and add these endings.

J’aimer + aisTu aimer + aisIl aimer + aitNous aimer + ionsVous aimer + iezIls aimer + aient

Ex: vendre: take the verb in the infinitive, get rid of the ee and add these endings.

Some of the verbs are irregular ( they do not follow a pattern)
