Do you think men or women are more focused in the library second floor from your objective observation?

“Both genders are = in their levels of focus. I wouldn’t say they were extremely focused, but they both definitely get a lot of work done.”

Page 21: Laura Baenen, Nick Park, and Brandon Elliott

What is something about the technical support that students aren’t aware you provide?

“Many people aren’t aware how proficient we are with the hardware problems with computers such as the CD-ROM Drive.”

Page 22: Laura Baenen, Nick Park, and Brandon Elliott

What does all of this mean?

Mens Avg. GPA = 3.125

Women’s Avg. GPA = 3.456

Everyone who answered very focused had a GPA >= 3.0

Page 23: Laura Baenen, Nick Park, and Brandon Elliott

• Very focused women 3-4 hrs

• Very focused men had a spread of library time

• Students with a GPA 1.0-2.9 always were either somewhat focused or just focused.

Page 24: Laura Baenen, Nick Park, and Brandon Elliott

• Very few people came to the library without the intention of being focused.

• 59 people entered the library with a specific subject to study.

Page 25: Laura Baenen, Nick Park, and Brandon Elliott

*The use of resources did not show any general trends in GPA.

Page 26: Laura Baenen, Nick Park, and Brandon Elliott

• Men seemed to be realistic with their GPA.

• Women….?

• We only admitted people who were entering the library to do the survey

Page 27: Laura Baenen, Nick Park, and Brandon Elliott

Effectiveness Evaluation

• Make GPA intervals more exact around 3.0, eliminating .1 gaps

• Been more persistent on accurate GPA• Asked for year of attendance(again GPA)• Surveyed > 100 of each gender• Interviewed people when exiting to better

gauge their focus level and time spent
