Itinerary Day 1 - Meet at College (1400), Coach departs from Launceston College to collect group from Day 1/2 - Ferry crossing (2345) from Dover to Calais & check into hotel ( 1400), fire drill, ski fit & settle in Day 3 - First day skiing with 5 hours instruction , 1 hour lunch supervision Day 4 - Second day skiing with 5 hours instruction, 1 hour lunch supervision Day 5 - Third day skiing with 5 hours instruction, 1 hour lunch supervision Day 6 - Fourth day skiing with 5 hours instruction, ski race, test & presentation, 1 hour lunch supervision Day 7 - Fifth day skiing with 5 hours instruction, 1 hour lunch supervision, checkout out of hotel for journey home (1730) Day 8 - Ferry crossing from Calais to Dover (0850) Day 8 - Arrive home. We employ the services of the local branch of the official National Ski School. All Instructors are fully qualified and have an intimate knowledge of the ski area and safety procedures therein. 5 hours of instruction per day 1 hour of lunchtime supervision per day Mountain restaurants to purchase food.

Hotel: Jenbacherhof Location: 1 km from the centre of Jenbach Jenbach is a small village situated 40 minutes by coach from the city of Salzburg and only 10 minutes from the ski lifts experience with school groups. The Jenbacherof is an ideal school hotel that can be divided into smaller areas, allowing multiple groups to eat and sleep in different parts of the hotel. Only SkiTeam4 use this hotel. Features: As well as the numerous entertainment rooms, the dining rooms can also be used for evening entertainment. Two bar areas, a meeting room / video room, TV room, games room with table tennis etc, chill zone with internet corner, mini-movie theatre and a ski storage room with hot air boot drying Spa and a small swimming pool. There is WiFi however it is chargeable to students. Bedrooms: All rooms have between 2 - 4 beds and have full private facilities.

Spending Money As the trip is based on a full-board basis, the students will require a small amount of money to cover the cost of various snacks and drinks. Breakfast, Lunch and evening meals and evening entertainments are all included in the price. Other considerations for spending money would be buying presents for the family and the excursions. The minimum suggestion is £80 and there is no maximum limit set. All that I ask is that the money is to be held by the staff and issued on a daily basis. This will ensure that large sums of money are not lost and the students can be helped with their budgeting skills. This money should be divided up in Euros and a small amount of Sterling. All monies need to be handed in to me a week before departure.

European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) The EHIC (the replacement for the E111 form) entitles UK residents who are travelling to Europe to reduce cost, sometimes free, state provided healthcare which becomes necessary when visiting a European Union (EU) country. The card is available free of charge, is valid for up to five years, and can be applied for: On-line by visiting www.dh.gov.uk/travellers (delivery within 7 days). By phoning the EHIC Application Line on 0845 606 2030 (delivery within 10 days).

PASSPORTS Thank you for parents co-operation in helping to get the necessary travel documents. If you have not already done so, please would you supply me the passport. This information is needed for the tour operator to satisfy the requirements of the trip. It increases security and speeds up our travel through Europe. During the trip the passports will be held by a member of staff, for safe keeping.

As Party Leader, it is important that I have total peace of mind knowing that my group is properly equipped and prepared for the eventuality of bad weather. It is vital that clothing be practical, warm and weatherproof. ESSENTIAL ITEMS: SKI JACKET AND TROUSERS - these can often be expensive and can be hired to save on expense. THERMALS - The weather can be particularly harsh on the slopes. The thermal lining keeps you warm and dry by trapping air next to the skin and taking away perspiration moisture from the body. SKI GLOVES OR MITTENS - Mittens are preferred for warmth whereas gloves are more practical. For fashion reasons, gloves are much more popular. SKI SOCKS - There is nothing worse than cold feet on the mountain, so it is essential to have the proper ski socks. They need to be high enough to reach over the top of the ski boot and should have a high wool content. 3 or 4 pairs are recommended for a week’s skiing.

SKI GOGGLES - Only a pair of ski goggles can protect the eyes when skiing in bad weather. A double lens is much preferred, as they are much less likely to mist up. WARM HAT - Essential to prevent heat loss from the head. SKIN PROTECTION - It is important to keep a barrier on your face at all times to prevent the skin drying out, and to protect it from the harmful rays of the sun and its glare. HELMET - It will be compulsory for all members of the group including staff to wear a helmet. It is Austrian law that children wear a helmet. They will help prevent the skier from head injuries when falling or crashing at low speeds. They are also very warm to wear in cold weather and are becoming the ‘cool’ thing to wear on the slopes.

OPTIONAL CLOTHING AND ACCESSORIES: • Polo neck or roll neck tops make a great 2nd layer. They should be 100% cotton

and will help prevent heat loss from the neck. • Micro fleece is proving to be a popular mid layer and in combination with a

thermal layer, under a ski jacket, will keep you warm on even the coldest of days. • In good weather sunglasses may be worn for eye protection. Wrap-around

glasses are even better as they provide increased protection from the sun and the elements.

• Ski ties are extremely useful for transporting and identifying your skis. • A bum bag or small rucksack is recommended to take to the mountain each day.

This will enable you to keep your valuables, camera, water and extra clothing safe.

• A pair of sturdy and weatherproof shoes will be useful for wearing after skiing and for evening use. There will most likely be fresh snow and ice on most roads and paths.

Austria 2015 Code of Conduct PUNCTUALITY AND POLITENESS FROM PUPILS WILL BE INSISTED UPON AT ALL TIMES DURING THE VISIT. PUPIL MUST BE READY FOR THE DAYS SKIING WITH ALL THE CORRECT EQUIPMENT TO ENTER THE SLOPES. NO PUPIL WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE SLOPES WITHOUT THIS EQUIPMENT. PUPILS SHOULD ALWAYS BE AWARE OF OTHER TRAVELLERS AND SHOULD DO NOTHING TO INCONVENIENCE THEM. THE PHONE IN THE ROOM IS EXPENSIVE IT WOULD BE ADVISABLE NOT USE THE PHONE. PARENTS WIIL RECEIVE THE BILL IF IT IS USED ON RETURN. PHONE CARDS ARE AVAIABLE. PUPILS CAN RING HOME BUT ONLY I WILL INFORM PARENTS OF AN ACCIDENT OR OF ANY PUPILS WHO HAVE INJURED THEMSLVES. THEREFORE CONSIDER THAT YOUR SON/DAUGHER ARE OK UNTIL YOU HAVE HEARD FROM ME. ALL PUPILS WILL BE TOLD WHAT TO DO IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY. PLEASE ENSURE THIS IS CLEAR IN YOUR MIND. IF FREE TIME IS AVAILABLE, NO PUPIL WILL BE ALLOWED OUT OF THE HOTEL WITHOUT PERMISSION FROM A MEMBER OF STAFF.

ARRANGEMENTS WILL BE MADE FOR STAFF TO LOOK AFTER SPENDING MONEY A DAILY BANKING SYSTEM WILL OPERATE. PUPILS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO SMOKE DURING ANY PART OF THIS VISIT. PUPILS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO BUY OR CONSUME ALCOHOL DURING ANY PART OF THIS VISIT.

THERE WILL BE NO UNSUPERVISED SKIING OR SNOWBORADING AT ANY TIME. NO PUPIL WILL VENTURE ONTO THE SLOPES OR CHAIRLIFTS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF THE PARTY LEADER. N.B ANY SERIOUS BREACH OF THESE RULES WILL RESULT IN THE WITHDRAWAL OF THE LIFT PASS FOR THE INDIVIDUAL CONCERNED, UNTIL CONTACT HAS BEEN MADE WITH PARENTS AND THE COLLEGE LEADERSHIP TEAM
