It can be tricky creating or sourcing quality percussion loops. Not only does it require the authentic instruments themselves, you

also need a serious recording environment and talented percussionists who understand the nuance and variation found in Latin rhythms.

But that’s exactly what we’ve brought together in SM Studio’s Latin Percussion. Armed with one of the UK’s finest percussionists and his arsenal the finest percussion instruments — including congas, bongos, timbales, guiro, cabassa, maracas and surdo — we took to the studio with a host of top-quality mics to capture hundreds of impeccable percussive grooves, layers and one-shots that capture the fiery spirit of Latin America: cha-cha, calypso, bossa nova, guaguanco, mambo, merengue, salsa, samba and songo.

We hope that these loops will serve producers across all genres. From house to techno, disco to downtempo, the these groove-laden rhythms are ideal for anyone seeking to add an organic, human feel to their beats.

And we’ve looked to serve up the most flexible tools for the job - providing intricate and full-
