Program first dayMorning session (9.00 – 13.00) – Tiziano Testori

    1. Full digital implant solution for partially and totally edentulous patients:

    • the Simplified Digital Protocol (SDP)

Abstract first dayThe course will cover the latest trend in implantology like:

    1. Immediate loading with full digital implant solution for partially and totally edentulous patients: The aim of this first topic is to propose the Simplified Digital Protocol (SDP) for the treatment of fully and partially edentulous patients. This protocol consists in a 3 steps

procedure from the first consultation to the delivery of the provisional prosthesis blending the prosthetics traditional diagnostic phase with modern digital technology. This novel protocol allowed simplification of the procedures for the surgical team, reduction of cost and discomfort for the patient, while maintaining a high implant and

prosthetic success rate with high patient satisfaction. This latter aspect included achieving good esthetic results, as well as efficient masticatory and phonetic function.

    2. Minimally invasive treatment in the posterior jaws: Maxillary sinus elevation lateral vs crestal approach: a revisited clinical vision after 30 years or research and clinical experience Maxillary sinus elevation surgery has evolved during the last 25 years to a point where it is considered the most successful augmentation procedure performed

today and the survival rate of implants placed in these grafts is as high or higher than that of implants placed in the non-grafted posterior maxilla. The sinus elevation procedure is still evolving due to the development of new surgical techniques and new biomimetic technologies, however, there is still no unanimous consensus on when to adopt the lateral/crestal approach or alternative treatments like short, transinus and tilted implants. This lecture will address both evidence-based and the latest state-of-the-art techniques.

    3. Perio-implantology: practical guidelines to maximize peri-implant soft tissue health The esthetic implant rehabilitation of patients with esthetically and functionally compromised dentition frequently involves a multidisciplinary approach and represents

a clinical challenge. During recent years, treatment modalities and options have changed and from a surgical point of view, less invasive procedures are used in order to preserve soft tissue anatomy and minimize recession. Also the design of implants and prosthetic components have changed in order to minimize bone resorption and soft tissue alterations.

This presentation will give practical guidelines that can be easily used in day-to-day clinical practice in order to help maximize peri-implant esthetics.

Clinical indications for the use of new soft tissue substitute will be covered.

    Program second dayMorning session (9.00 – 13.00) – Hom-Lay Wang

    1. What’s new in implant complications and management?

Abstract second day1. What’s new in implant complications and management? Implant complications have become a major challenge for many dentists who placed implants. This lecture is designed to help dentists who placed or restored

implants understand what’s new in implant complications, how to avoid these problems and how to predictably mange this emerging concern. New definitions such as plaque induced peri-implantitis and non-plaque associated peri-implant diseases, predisposing and precipitating factors associated with peri-implant complications and treatment prognosis of peri-implant diseases will be presented. Recent research findings of how surface coating or the titanium particles influence the incidence of implant complications will be discussed. In addition, this lecture will provide the mechanisms of how implant bone loss and implant failure occurred. Specifically, how to manage implant esthetic and biological complications using EP-DDS protocol will be demonstrated. The treatments for implant diseases/complications include: chemotherapeutic agents, lasers de-contamination, apically positioned flap with or without implantoplasty, implant surface detoxification, lasers, guided bone regeneration, soft tissue grafts, implant removal as well as re-implantation will be thoroughly discussed.

    2. Workshop on crestal approach revisited and transinus implants During the workshop, anatomic models will be utilized to give participants a hands-on introduction to the crestal approach. Didactic models have been

manufactured starting from real patient DICOM images combining in the same model, different crestal bone height.
