However, we won’t be returning to ‘normal’ as we previously knew it. What we are doing is following the TasTAFE COVID-19 Safety Plan, which

means that all TasTAFE sites are open to students and the public, subject to the following three conditions:

room capacities are adhered to at all times 1.5m separation between people is adhered where possible shared equipment is sanitised between uses.

This also includes the use of learning hubs, libraries, student common areas and cafeterias.

Apprentice training – delivery methodsAttached is a table outlining the broad delivery methods TasTAFE is offering for apprentice groups between now and September 2020. Apprentices will continue to have a combination of on-campus small group training, workplace projects, online theory, distance learning and workplace visits. Not all apprentice groups are listed on this table, so if you have any questions about the delivery of training for your apprentice, please contact the Education Manager. If you are not sure who that is, email [email protected] with the name of the course your apprentice is enrolled in.Most apprentices will be engaging in online or distance learning for part of their course. Keep in mind that you should be giving your apprentice time for this style of learning, just as you would if they were coming in for theory classes. If your apprentice does not have computer access, they can book a computer to use onsite at one of TasTAFE’s libraries: www.tastafe.tas.edu.au/computer-bookings.

Workplace visitsWorkplace visits will continue – or where they have been paused – will start again. TasTAFE staff will continue to follow social distancing measures and will ensure that all COVID-Safe procedures are followed to ensure a safe visit to your workplace.

QuestionsTasTAFE is committed to providing apprentice training that will support Tasmania’s economy in the COVID-19 recovery phase and to meeting your business needs.
