SL15 1nm Solar Marine Light
The Sealite SL15 1nm compact LED light is exceptional value and incorporates some of the most advanced technology available. In the tradition of Sealite lanterns, the SL15 is designed to be maintenance-free and have a service life of over 5 years.
The SL15 can be installed in minutes, and requires no operator intervention. The flash characters are user-adjustable, and the unit is supplied ready for immediate installation.
During daylight hours the solar module will charge the battery, and the lantern will automatically begin operation at dusk – once the ambient light threshold drops sufficiently.
The SL15 features the Sealite LED 360° Omnidirectional Reflector, which increases the intensity and uniformity of the horizontal output. The tough polycarbonate lens is specifically designed for use with LEDs, and incorporates an environment-friendly spike – deterring unwelcome bird life.
The unit is sealed using an advanced ultrasonic weld, enabling a rugged and completely waterproof seal capable of prolonged and deep immersion (IP68).
Optional ON/OFF Switch (SL15-SW)
The SL15 is also available with an optional ON/OFF switch for temporary installations such as worksites.

The SL125 LED marine lantern is maintenance-free and used by many of theworld’s busiest ports, and largest militaries.
The Sealite Advantage
SL125 Technology
The SL125 is the most advanced LED marine lantern on the market. Utilising the latestsoftware and microcircuitry developments, the lantern boasts a huge number offeatures including flash-memory and the most efficient power conversion available.
The tough polycarbonate lens is specifically designed for use with LEDs, andincorporates an environment-friendly spike - deterring unwelcome bird life.
The unit is sealed using polycarbonate bonding compounds similar to those used bymajor automobile manufacturing companies. This also enables a waterproof rating ofIP68 - unmatched by other manufacturers.
Available with up to 4tiers of ultra-high intensityLEDs(36 LEDs per tier) forincreased light intensity
256 user-adjustable flashcharacteristics
Lantern Operation
The SL125 is ideal to fit on existing structures, or can be supplied as a complete unit withexternal solar modules and battery compartment.
4 adjustable intensitysettings
Operates in conjunctionwith existing or purpose-built power supplies
Installs in minutes &operates maintenance-free
The large industry-standard base, and 1 metre of included cable allows the SL125 to bereadily fitted to any 12 volt power supply.
Once installed, the SL125 requires no operator intervention. The flash characters areeasily adjusted on-site by the user, and the lantern will automatically begin operation atdusk - once the ambient light threshold drops sufficiently.

SL1255-7nm LED Marine Lantern Series
SL125-2 SL125-3
Up to 4 tiers of 36 LEDs are available to increase the light intensity of the SL125 unit.
The SL125-2, SL125-3 and SL125-4 have 72, 108 and 144 LEDs respectively.
Each LED tier utilises the Sealite omnidirectional LED Reflector (US Pat. No. 6,667,582. AU Pat. No. 778,918) to increase theintensity and uniformity of the horizontal output.
Multiple focal points on the lens then create superior divergence specifications to suit regulations worldwide.
Optional GPS Synchronisation (SL125-GPS)
The SL125 lantern series are also available with optional GPS synchronisationenabling users to clearly mark channels, ports, rivers and entrances, marinas, aquaculture installations and exclusion zones with independent lanterns whichflash in synchronisation.
When lanterns flash in synchronisation, they can be clearly distinguished fromother navaids and confusing background lighting.
Optional RF Communication Synchronisation (SL125-CS)
The SL125 is now available with optional short-range RF communicationsynchronisation.
Two (2) or more lights can be synchronised to flash in unison via an internal RFmodule - ideal for rivers, marina entrances, channel marking and aquaculture.
Optional GSM Remote Monitoring (SL125-GSM) and AIS Integration(SL125-AIS)
The SL125 lantern series may also be fitted with GSM or AIS remote monitoringsystems - enabling users to access real-time diagnostic data remotely. AISintegration also enables crucial Message 21 information to be broadcast tomariners within the region.
The SL125 4-Tier lantern utilisesa unique heat-dissipatingdomed lens to achievemaximum LED intensityoutput over a wider range ofenvironmental conditions.
Optional Remote Radio Control (SL125-RC)
Radio control may be fitted to SL125 series products enabling users to remotelymodify the setup of their lantern via handheld radio controller.
For example, the operator can remotely change between different coloured LEDbanks (to change the colour of the light), turn their lights ON and OFF, or changethe flash setting. Perfect for remote traffic control and to designate an area ofactivity.
In addition, each LED arrayincorporates temperaturecontro l mechanisms toensure maximum operationalperformance.

AT = Atmospheric Transmissivity
When a light beam passes through the atmosphere the atmospheric
transmissivity factor indicates how much light is absorbed by the
atmosphere.
For example, when AT = 0.85 this means that 85% of the original
light intensity is visible after 1nm. Consequently 15% of light is lost to
atmospheric absorption.

Typical night marking ofbridge structures generallyincludes;
Red or green flashing lights tomark the navigable limits ofthe channel in accordancewith the IALA MaritimeBuoyage Sys tem locatedon the bridge piers, underthe span, or on buoy andbeacons in the water.
The 107mm Sealite LED lens is available in both positive and negative divergence tocater for elevated mounting positions.
Bridge lights are typically fixed-on, however a choice of over 256 IALA recommendedflash patterns are available as standard.
The lights are available as configured to operate from 12v, 110v, or 240v power, orsupplied as complete solar/battery systems to comply with requirements of regionalgoverning bodies such as the U.S. Coast Guard, or the IALA Recommendations for themarking of fixed bridges over navigable waters.
In U.S. waters for instance, the Coast Guard prescribes certain combinations of fixedlights for bridges and structures extending over waterways. In general, red lights areused to mark piers and supports, and green lights mark the centerline of the navigablechannel through a fixed bridge.
If there is more than one channel through the bridge, the preferred route is markedby three white lights placed vertically. Red lights are also used on some lift bridges toindicate the lift is closed, and green lights to indicate that the lift is open to vessel traffic.
Double-opening swing bridges are lighted with three lanterns on top of the spanstructure so that when viewed from an approaching vessel the swing span when closedwill display three red lights, and when open for navigation will display two green lights.

Sealite’s AIS (Automatic Identification System) enabled AtoNs operate on theinternational VHF Maritime Mobile Band, enabling Port Authorities and otherusers to remotely monitor the real-time status of their AtoN installations.
Mariners in the broadcasting region are provided with crucial Message 21 information(as defined by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU)) such as AtoNoperational status and positioning- revolutionizing the VTS system by expanding AtoNinformation availability to mariners worldwide.
The compact AIS AtoN TeleBeacon is available installed within Sealite’s range ofSL125/C Type 2 Complete Lantern Assemblies, as well as the compact SLC600 SolarMarine Lantern, providing installation flexibility and operational reliability for a range ofenvironmental conditions and demanding duty cycles.
Versions of the self-contained TeleBeacon are available without the lantern integration,to enable the benefits of AIS if a visual navaid is not required.
The TeleBeacon interacts with most AIS-enabled charts or radar screens, both at seaand ashore, broadcasting imperative information at regular intervals about the typeand name of the AtoN, as well as GPS position. With these capabilities, Sealite’s AISenabled AtoNs add a new information quality to VTS systems.
In addition, the AIS enabled AtoN broadcasts AIS Message 6 received by thedesignated base station, allowing the operator to monitor the AtoN for solar andbattery voltage, flash code setting, and light status. Meteorological and hydrologicaldata and a host of other parameters can be fitted. Imagine the maintenance andcall-out costs saved every year! This fixed frequency telemetry unit operates on thedesignated AIS1 and AIS2 channels.
Sealite’s AIS enabled AtoNs were developed in technology partnership with MaritecLtd, and in accordance with the International Association of Lighthouse Authorities(IALA) Recommendations, and ITU Publications- creating completely integrated, self-contained AIS enabled AtoNs.

Sealite’s cost effective GSM Cell-Phone Monitoring and Alarm System providesusers with the ability to efficiently monitor the status of their AtoNinstallations via real-rime data from anywhere in the world.
This advanced GSM system (Global System for Mobile Communication) can be internallyintegrated into a range of Sealite lanterns with no external aerials or base stationrequired. Users simply monitor the status of their installations using a cellular telephoneand/or secure web portal access.
The GSM Cell-Phone System works via the international standard, fully digital GSMnetwork - the same network used by millions of cell-phone users worldwide when makingmobile cell-phone calls, and sending SMS and MMS messages. Sealite lanterns fittedwith the GSM Cell-Phone System have an internally integrated Motorola® cell-phonemodule and Seali te proprietary software to enable data transfer between the lanternand designated user’s cell-phone (via SMS message) or PC web interface.
Maintenance personnel simply send an SMS message to the designated Sealite GSMlantern cell-phone number, and then receive an automatic SMS reply detai l ing thevarious pre-set operational conditions. In addition, various alarm conditions can also beactivated such as tracking a drifting buoy via GPS that has moved outside a designatedarea (if mooring is broken etc) or alerting to a potential power disruption.
Sealite’s innovative GSM system may also be setup to regularly report lantern conditionsto a secure user-login portal area of the Sealite website. This provides details of theGSM lanterns operational status, in an easy-to-read PC interface, such as historicalgraphed data, GPS positioning viewed via internet mapping systems, and day-to-dayoperational information about each individual lantern over the period of it’s service life.
The Sealite GSM Monitoring System is secure – unauthorised access to the lantern’s datacannot occur as only the designated cell-phone numbers programmed into the GSMlantern will respond to a remote SMS. In addition, data transferred to and maintained onthe Sealite website is user-password protected.
Each lantern is fitted with it’s own SIM card, which provides a designated cell-phonecontact number for each individual lantern. Any network operator can be usedproviding they have GSM coverage.

Call Sealite for a freeDVD documentary ofthe GPS synchronisedlanterns in operation.
Shown with cut-out lens
Utilising latest advancements in GPS technology, Sealite has developed aninternal synchronisation system which can be incorporated into a range ofSealite lanterns.
The Sealite Advantage Synchronisation of
independently flashinglanterns to clearly markchannels and entrances
Sealite’s GPS system provides users with the ability to mark a channel, port or river withindependently operating lanterns that all flash in synchronisation. This presents a clearoutline of the channel each time the lanterns flash, and is particularly effective inovercoming background lighting.
The Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver is housed within the Sealite lantern andno additional power supplies, aerials or control systems are required. This lanternoption is microprocessor-based and has been designed to provide maximum reliabilityand performance of the lantern over a wide range of environmental conditions.
Using overhead satellites, multiple GPS lanterns set to the same flash pattern willsynchronise anywhere in the world.
No limitations on distanceor objects betweenlanterns
How does it work? Inbuilt allowing for easy
installation
Each light operatesindependently andrequires no operatorintervention
Three (3) satellites needto be in view for the built-in GPS receiver to collecttime data
Synchronisation is achieved using an internal algorithm based on the highly accuratetime base and time data received from the satellites. The satellite data is providedfrom a number of earth stations using atomic clocks as the time base. At power-up themicroprocessor checks that the internal GPS module is programmed correctly and isable to provide valid time base and time data.
The light then checks for day/night. If it is daylight the internal microprocessor will go toidle mode after approximately 10 seconds to reduce power consumption.
SeaFlareTM Technology
The inbuilt GPS receiver and advanced software of the Sealite synchronised lanternsallow for the adoption of SeaFlareTM channel marking - a unique system that cascadesthe synchronisation of channel lanterns in a uni or bi-directional flash pattern.
In Australia, the Port of Melbourne Corporation has adopted this technology fromSealite to clearly identify the channel leading into Station Pier - an area that regularlyaccommodates some of the world’s largest passenger vessels including the QE2.
The neighbouring Port of Geelong utilise this technology to safely guide Afromax Tankersamong other large sized vessels into harbour.

InternalRF Module
RF Comm-SynchSL70 Lanterns
The Sealite AdvantageThis latest innovation is designed to offer a low-cost synchronisation optionfor applications including rivers, estuaries, marina entrances, channelmarking and aquaculture, and can be fitted to a range of Sealite lanterns.
Synchronisation benefits vessel operators at night by illuminating the boundary orchannel as a clear passage on entrance as opposed to indiscriminant flashing lightswhich may render the judgment of distance difficult.
Easy to use – simply setlights to the same flashpattern & they will comeinto synchronisation
Clear channel outlineachieved through lightsflashing in unison
Internal RF module – noexternal components
Up to 1.5 km operationalrange between lights –extended by each lightrelaying the message
How does it work?
RF Comm-Synch products are fitted with an internal RF module, which operates on a2.4GHz frequency and has an operational range of 1.5km between 2 lights.
Should more than 2 lanterns be required to be synchronised the range may beextended for longer distances as each lantern transmits the data to all adjacentlanterns - causing them to fall into synchronisation. The only limitation is that no lanternshould be more than 1.5km from the next lantern in the series.
RF Comm-Synch lanterns operate within a peer-to-peer network topology andtherefore are not dependent upon master/slave relationships. This means that lightsremain synchronised without use of master/slave configurations and each lantern inthe network shares both the roles of master and slave.
Low-costUsing innovative software, the additional power consumption is minimal, and in mostconfigurations the solar lantern requires only 1.5hrs of direct sunlight per day to retainfull working autonomy.
Typical Applications

Perfect for Aquaculture, MarinaEntrances, & Channel & Perimeter
Marking
Synchronisation isrecommended for lanternsoperating with up to 20%duty cycles and in regionswhere typical solar irradiationaverages 1.5Kwh per day.Flash characters exceedingthis may require lanternintensity adjustment.
Synchronisation is achievedvia short-range RFcommunication betweenlanterns, and relies online-of-sight operation.

The Trident-3000 is one of the largest rotationally-moulded buoys available, with a float diameter of 3 meters and lantern focal height of up to 5 meters.
The float section of the Trident-3000 is built from four (4) roto-moulded quadrants, whichfasten together to form an incredibly robust 3 meter wide float section standing 1.8mtall. Each quadrant is moulded from UV-stabilised virgin polyethylene, and has an 18mmwall thickness. In addition, each section is filled with closed-cell polyurethane, whichprevents the ingress of moisture in the unlikely event of damage.
A 316-grade stainless-steel mooring pole runs through the centre of the assembly, towhich the tower section is fastened. Two large lifting eyes aid in buoy mooring andperiodic servicing.
The four-sided tower section of the Trident-3000 provides unsurpassed strength, and isfabricated from 316-grade stainless-steel – providing an estimated lifespan in excess of20 years.
Rotationally moulded paneling is fitted to the outside of the tower section tocreate a large, coloured visual area for marking. The replaceable paneling alsosimplifiescardinal marking, and gives operators flexibility in stocking spare components. No partof the structure requires painting at any stage of the products lifespan.
An integrated ladder with harness attachment points runs vertically up the tower to thetop platform. The internal top operational platform is designed to provide a safe workingarea for contractors.
The buoy is lightweight, and can be rested upright on the vessel deck for ease ofdeployment and final inspection.
A large counterweight offers exceptional stability in a variety of exposed regions.
The Trident-3000 can be supplied in all IALA colours, and side-panelling is available toaid in clear lateral marking – creating a huge visual area.

One-stop for all marineAtoN equipment
As a service to valued customers, Sealite has developed an advanced mooringcalculator based on IALA guidelines and experience from major users.
Known as SeaMoorTM, this facility is available free of charge by contacting Sealite.
The system simulates site mooring based on the following easy steps;
Step 1. Select Buoy Model
Customers select which Sealite buoy they’re planning to use in their installation.
Step 2. Select Water Depth
Customers select the water depth of their proposed installation.
Step 3. Confirm Recommended Chain Size
The calculator will recommend a chain size at this point, which the customer canconfirm or choose a larger or smaller size. The calculator will perform simulations basedon this data.
Step 4. Set Maximum Wind Speed
Users enter the likely maximum wind speed. Wind speed will affect the buoyperformance in different ways, depending on the exposed wind area of the navaid.
Step 5. Set Maximum Current
Customers enter the maximum water speed, which will affect both the buoy and chain.
Step 6. Simulate Chain Length
The calculator will recommend a chain length at this point, based on the availableinformation entered. Customers can adhere to this information, or select their ownlength. The calculator will perform simulations based on this data.
Step 7. Simulate Sinker Mass
The calculator will recommend a sinker mass, based on the available informationentered. Customers can adhere to this information, or select their own mass. Thecalculator will perform simulations based on this data.
The calculator will then simulate navaid mooring using all of this available date, andproduce a parts list of required components.
