WELLINGTON
A leisurely day, as we transfer by coach to Masterton to view the Vintage Avi-
ator’s rare and diverse collection of airworthy WWI Fighter Aircraft and the
Old Stick & Rudder Company’s impressive WWII Fighters, at Hood Aero-
drome. Enjoy a Vineyard lunch before our return to the hotel.
OVERNIGHT: WELLINGTON
Day 2
Our facilities at the Hood Aerodrome, Masterton are capable of every
aspect of aircraft and engine construction imaginable. Our most valuable
resource is our skilled craftsmen - specialized woodworkers, welders
and machinists, and people experienced in the complexities of fabric covered aircraft. This is the
first time since WW1 that these aircraft are being produced in a factory setting, although we utilise
the most modern CNC and CAD technology to increase accuracy and reduce labour costs. Working
relationships with other restoration facilities and museums in Europe, Australia, Canada and in the
USA assists TVAL in sourcing information as well as technical data and original parts for duplication
and reproduction.
The Vintage Aviator Ltd. works to New Zealand Civil Aviation Administration standards aircraft man-
ufacturing. This creative manufacturing scheme is a first for New Zealand and the world. Our ap-
proved process and procedures manual dictates how we accomplish each task and our inspection
process ensures that the highest standards and utmost accuracy are achieved.

We link our great little country. The 92 km, three hour journey between Wellington and Picton
is one of New Zealand's most iconic tourist experiences, and acknowledged as one of the most
spectacular cruises in the world

Named after the original walnut trees that lined the entrance to the winery, lunch at our Twelve Trees
Restaurant is a must for visitors, and locals alike. The great food and relaxing atmosphere, whether in
the sheltered courtyard, or inside by the fire, provide a warm welcome.
Menus change seasonally to reflect Head Chef, Matt Gibson's simple food philosophy "fresh & local".
However a couple of signature dishes, including the Seafood Chowder, which has become a local fa-
vourite, remain on the menu year round. Come in and try it with the delicious Wallops Chardonnay!
