Abstract

Public libraries are now a source of strength and a vital engine within the modern

societies, which they have acquired over the course of history. The foundations and rules

of this type of library have been built with changes in their form, location and

developments in their functions, which gave them flexibility and adaptability within

societies despite all those changes in politic, Economic, social and cultural values that

have been carried out by each era. Therefore, our understanding of the real value of

these libraries in these societies is very important in terms of our ability to define the

modern context in which they are presented, the way they design their functions and

services

The cultural and educational work of public libraries in educational policy has become

one of the main concerns for the researchers and public policies planners, which requires

study of all aspects and promotion using international experiences to achieve the

pedagogical worksuccess. And that is the goal of this study where we are trying to bring

, the promotion of opportunities for children and young people for an academic success

and the principles implantation of lifelong learning in the context of ‘’the concept of the

Information Society’’. This study is also concerned with the experience of Algerian

public libraries by highlighting the evidence and indicators that support their role and

importance in education and educational project. This highlights

The exposure to the changes that have occurred in the education policy in Algeria,

the socio-historical challenges it faces as well as the contemporary challenges that make

it necessary to open up to the cultural institutions and public libraries precisely because

they share common values with the educational institutions

To highlight the importance of educational and educational work played by public

libraries in all countries , which we are trying to bring down through the Algerian

experience exposure to the nature and forms of cooperation between public libraries and

educational institutions in Algeria by focusing on the new model which is located in

state cities which carries the name "Public Libraries for Public Reading
