ENJOY VILLAGE LIFECLOSE TO TOWN AND COUNTRY

Discover an enviable lifestyle in the desirable village of Somersham, with its vibrant community and rural charm.

The community-run shop and historic Duke of Marlborough pub are at the heart of this friendly village and are both just a short walk from Lark Grove. The Village Hall is another hub and is home to several popular clubs. There is also a hair salon and a garage. Nestled by a small stream, the village has an attractive mix of old and newer buildings, including two churches, St Mary’s Parish Church and Somersham Baptist Church.

The well-stocked shop will cater for your everyday needs and for your weekly food shop there is an Asda superstore 11 minutes from home on the outskirts of Ipswich. The town also has Sainsbury’s, Morrison’s and Waitrose stores.

When you want to dine out, the community-run Duke of Marlborough pub has a kitchen headed by a professional chef and specialises in local sourced British classics, cooked to order. The Vegetarian Red Lion in Gt Bricett, an 8-minute drive, is devoted to vegetarian and vegan dishes. Four minutes’ drive away is The Limeburners, a bar with a fish & chip restaurant. For more choice, travel 18 minutes to Ipswich where you’ll find plenty of pubs, restaurants, bars and cafés in the town centre and chic Waterfront area. The county town has a market four days a week, street food vendors in the colourful Food Quarter and a monthly farmers’ market. Ipswich is the cultural capital of Suffolk, boasting theatres, cinemas, concert venues, events and festivals. The town also has a good range of shops, both High Street names and independents, for when you want some retail therapy.

For families with children, Somersham Primary School is an eight-minute walk from Lark Grove and was rated Good by Ofsted in 2020. The two closest secondary schools are Claydon High School,

rated Good in 2014 and Westbourne Academy, which was Good in 2019. For those looking for independent schooling, Suffolk has a good choice of schools. Those within six miles of Somersham include Meadows Montessori Primary School, Ipswich Prep School, The Ipswich School and St Joseph’s College.

When you want a breath of fresh air, a run or to exercise outside, Somersham’s large playing field is under a mile away. There is also a children’s play area, a pavilion, tennis courts, grass pitches and an area for cycling. Hadleigh Pool, which has a gym and fitness studio, is a 19-minute drive. Under six miles away is Whitton Sports and Community Centre which has a gym and offers fitness classes, as well as trampolining, roller-skating and racket sports. Ipswich also has a David Lloyd leisure club.

Your nearest mainline train station is in Ipswich, from where you can be at London Liverpool Street in an hour and 17 minutes or Norwich in 41 minutes. If you are travelling by road for work or leisure, the A14 is 3.4 miles from home. Bury St Edmunds, a jewel in Suffolk’s crown, is easily accessible by road or rail in around 30 minutes and offers a host of shopping and entertainment options in a beautiful setting. Felixstowe, with its impressive beaches and waterside activities, can also be reached in under 30 minutes.

With the glorious Suffolk countryside on your doorstep, it is easy to make the most of your free time. There are endless places to explore within the Suffolk Coast and Heaths or Dedham Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, both a half hour drive. Take the 20-minute drive to Jimmy’s Farm and Wildlife Park, get close to the animals and sample delicious food. For another great day out, head to Christchurch Park in Ipswich, where there are acres of gardens, sport and play areas and footpaths in a space which also hosts concerts and events.

It is not possible in a brochure of this nature to do more than give a general impression of the range, quality and variety of the homes we have on offer. The computer generated imagery, floor plans, configurations and layouts are included for guidance only. The properties may vary in terms of elevational design details, position/size of garage and materials used. Such changes are due to our commitment to creating homes of individual character, although similar to others. We operate a policy of continuous product development so there may be material differences between the accommodation depicted in our literature and that on offer on any particular development or at different times during the progress of any development. Maps not to scale. Computer generated images of property types at Lark Grove may not necessarily illustrate that property type in its setting at this development. All internal and external photography of properties depicts previous Hopkins Group developments. Other photographs are of the local area or are indicative lifestyle images. 05/21 214331 Designed and produced by thinkBDW 01206 546965.
